Confident flying through the hills and easy to poodle around on, the full exhaust system on it made it sound like God's motorcycle. Thunderous. @Tig-Boy Жыл бұрын
I've owned 3 of these bikes (KTM, Triumph and currently, the new MT10) and I've ridden everything else. Honestly can't believe you place the Triumph above the MT10 for the road (and possibly even the track). MT10 will ride all day in Power mode 1 (which I seriously don't believe is snatchy) without any lack of immediate low end grunt and along with the Aprilia, has the most characterful engine. Agree with you on the KTM, think it's absolutely the best all around bike, but it's so good, you need to be doing silly speeds for it to make sense. Downside is KTM reliability, hence why I have my second MT10. Triumph suspension is a nightmare and the harshness cannot be dialled out, I know my suspension and tried everything without success. Equally, its electronics are shocking and the quickshifter has a carzy amount of delay biolt in which cannot be adjusted. Aprilia too tiny and uncomfortable for anyone over 5ft 9" but great otherwise. Ducati nearly £30k (come on guys, let's stay in the real world). I tested the V4S model and it's great, but you simply cannot use the power on the road, so what's the point. If you want a Ducati, buy the Streetfighter V2 and use everything it's got. BMW is ergonomically similar to the Aprilia and very tight on leg room, so not comfortable. MT10 suspension is set a fraction hard for the road, but dialling out is easy and a good set up can be achieved for road or track. KTM definitely has the most compliant suspension and regardless of it's engine, the Kawasaki rides like a barge and is more of a cruiser than a sports naked and should be compared against Diavel's and the like. Ultimately, you place the Yamaha last which I believe is doing an injustice to the bike. I've bough my second one (after stacking up all of the options) because it has what is probably the most wonderful engine that's ever been created for a bike. It is all day and even touring comfortable (when fitted with comfort seat), handles just about perfectly on the road (and decent on track), is as fast as anything to 140mph, has typical Japanese reliability and you can buy two of them for the price of the Ducati and have enough spare for a year's worth of track days. My order with my experience would be KTM 1st followed by MT10, then Aprilia, Ducati, BMW, Kawasaki and Triumph last. As said, reliability is the KTM's sticking point (but great when they're working) and I won't personally be buying another. Cheers.

Thanks for this great view. I'm currently looking at a supernaked to join my CBR600RR in the garage. I'm favouring the MT10SP for many of the reasons you state. I want to open the garage and my bike works. I've heard too many horror stories from many of the European brands.
@Tig-Boy Жыл бұрын
@@King_Harrold Hi. If you are looking for an all day comfortable naked with superbike performance, incredible character and handling to match, I seriously don't think you would regret buying the MT10. As nice as the SP looks, I'm still not convinced that electronic suspension works as well as standard suspension with a good set up. There have also been many reliability issues with electronic suspension, but to be fair, Yamaha seem to have it more sorted than most. I think Ducati have the reliability sorted now, but other European brands including BMW still lag behind the Japanese. Just simple things irritate with some European brands, for example, every single BMW I've owned has used copious amounts of oil. The Japanese bikes never use a drop, so it's one less thing to worry about. Anyway, whatever you choose, enjoy it and ride safe. Cheers.

What a wonderful video. Thoroughly enjoyed just seeing all the naked being broke down. They're all perfect (for me) and I'm not a great racer so I'm just very excited to see those more experienced riders keeping manufacturers on their toes. Great video lads well done!

I'm super pumped to see the ktm as y'all's top super naked! I want one so bad.. L Twin for LIFE!! .. So the Aprilia Tuono has won the super naked shoot out for what the past straight 10 years lmfao..so why would they change it. Until multiple manufacturers not only catches but passes up the Tuono I doubt Aprilia is going to do any major changes to the Tuono that has won almost every super naked shoot out for the past 10 years. After Ducatis street fighter and the new bmw m1000R I'm sure they are working on something now but probably won't see it till 2024

Unless you’re doing track days, it boils down to the most fun you can have on the street, that’s the KTM. Only people you hear that haven’t had a good time riding one, is one that hasn’t actually ridden one. You(anyone reading this will not use it) don’t need +200hp on the street or track, but that torque curve is where it’s at.

A few of the Kaw ratings I don't understand. Low marks on the brakes? Brembo calipers/master cylinder, and steel braided brake lines. They do have to haul extra weight, but are fantastic brakes. The low tech ratings? You guys only mentioned quirky adjustments? It has all the up to date requirements I believe. Interesting and well done tests though.

You guys missed Suzuki GSX 1000 S…its a very good naked bike that has no frill, easy to ride, and incredible inner city performance (best cornering, fantastic suspension to deal with bumps and potholes), and very very good reliability.
@TheCdubbleyoo Жыл бұрын
Due to the older, lesser tech, lower peak power and budget parts (tires, suspension, brakes, etc), the Suzuki is generally regarded by the moto press as not being s "super naked". It can seem dismissive, but this may be, in their way, an attempt to be more fair to the the Gixxus - it's a good value bike, but "super naked" refers to something less value-conscious. I wonder if Suzuki might not offer suspension/performance upgrades through the dealer in the coming season.

It makes sense the ktm was slower on track than it felt and was expected. The ktm motor is geared towards the mid-ranged power losing some of its top end. The reason it still feels faster than it is on track is a mix of: head position, lack of windscreen of any kind, and the shorter wheelbase which enables easier wheelies on command.
@johnnyblaze13722 жыл бұрын
the KTM will never be fast as his Competitors on Track ,not with this Construktion.
@emoservedwithfries2 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyblaze1372 eh, disagree there. Their rc 8c and all their motocross bikes are top of the line. The dukes were never meant to be a race bike - it's essentially more like a hypermoto/hypermotard than a r1.

For me the winner is the s1000r sport (not the M package)- best value vs performance bike(remaped w/ full system cranks 168.9hp on the wheel (Dyno tuned)+/- 180 on the engine). Just stick a gel seat on it and have maybe the 2nd fastest if the aprilia isn't remapped and so a great bike for the road and quick at trackdays. And the 2nd bike worth considering on my list is the Mt10sp remapped already with the braided stainless steel brake lines.
@JagoTFC18 күн бұрын
I really feel like the nakeds to take into consideration are the latest Z1000 R, GSX-S 1000, MT10 and CB1000R. Only with those you can then add the Speed, the Duke and the BMW. As an italian, stay off italian bikes. We are just too race focused with bikes but our cars are family friendly.
