Hey everyone - I have tried to compile the fastest Speedruns recorded for Appel as of Jan 2021 - If you want to know how to speedrun these levels, then this is the video for you! I could only include those records supplied as valid replays, however, many of these are world records as of posting this video, but a few are close runs, but can be beaten - If there is demand, then I will update you with a new video :) - Hope you enjoy watching this, do like the video and subscribe!

I haven't been on Scratch for ages since I started using Unity and all, and I always wonder, how in this flying world do you find time for this?!? xD Anyway, I like how you added a high jump boost when you jump on enemies, which makes speedrunning more interesting as you are basically exploiting a secret that makes the player feel more empowered. When I watch this speedrun, I always get this vibe of Hollow Knight where you use these enemies to make huge skips. I think that's what that makes Speedruns more interesting and different.

Waow ! It goes very quickly ! I wonder how your games can be so smooth and fun to play! I have a suggestion : add the possibility to change the color when creating a level (green, dark blue, light blue or brown)

@@griffpatch I take this opportunity to say that there is a bug when you load a level from the level editor: the apples located in secret passages are not loaded, and are transformed into a "block" of empty secret passage, without apple inside. (it works on the other hand by loading a level from the level selection menu)

How do you get inspiration for your games? Whenever I try to make a Scratch game, I always get stuck trying to figure out ideas for my games.

Generally ideas are iterative - in that you start with a simple idea - try to create that idea and then literally play with it in Scratch and see what feels good - and new ideas should come to you as you play. That's how I do things. I don't generally start with the whole plan in my head at all!

This game has reached 100K views in just more than a week, and it is evident why. Amazing graphics, graphic designing, scrolling mechanism and IT LOOKS LIKE A REAL GAME you can buy in the app store!!!! Also, one question, where did you get the footage of the speedruns?

The footage is recorded on my pc using OBS. The clever trick is that appel now allows saving of the previous run as a save code of you click the replay button and then pause it. I got users to submit me their codes so I could create the video.

(sorry, this is really off-topic from the video. I just picked one to ask on, because there's no way you'd see this on scratch under all that fan-mail) I'm working on a smash brothers type game that's coming along nicely. I've been having trouble on the camera zoom (where when the players are closer together, it's more zoomed in). I was looking back at your Tower Defence game from 2014. Considering you were able to make this advanced tileable game editable through custom maps, how likely would it be for you to release an update on some of your older games like tower defence and add customizable levels?
