I loved this video!! I now have a much better understanding of how to get my cakes smooth. I have been battling that technique for months. I know it will take a lot of practice, but I now have a better starting point. Thank you so much for sharing your baking knowledge. I just found your channel and I love it. I am a new subscriber.

I always use this technique with a plastic scrapper, and it works well for me For the top part I always use a spatula. But using the mathematical stuff is a good idea especially when you're away from your baking tools and you have to decorate a cake on the spot. This was extremely fun and therapeutic to watch 😍😄😄😍😍😍😍😍😍

I was glad to see that you actually have to spin your turn table because I watch the videos, and I wonder if they have a turntable that is electrified and spins on its own. If I understand correctly, you just used your hand to get it going. I don’t know if mine would spin that long and I thought I had a pretty good one. Is there a brand of turntable you would want to recommend?

That was fun, but also useful ! Knowing how to replace « adequate » tools with something we already have at home is cool (I have already way too much stuff for cake decorating, which is just a hobby…), and the errors and trials of others can save us a lot of time and frustration :) So thank you, as always

Hi everyone!! First of all, i have to congratulate MK for this wonderful channel, i found it today and it is a revelation ❤️ i have a question, when you use they oven to bake, the heat comes from up, down o both??? I always use both but i don't know if this is the right way :( i would really appreciate your help *-* a big Hi from Chile ;)

you use the bottom cause if you use both up an down, the outside will get burnt before the inside gets well baked, but you can use both ways to preheat, then change it to only down when the cake is being put in the oven. You can use both ways for bread though,
@CakesbyMK
@CakesbyMK Жыл бұрын
Hi Leone! :D I am so so happy to hear you're enjoying the content :D when it comes to baking, I think it depends on what kind of oven you have and the settings they offer. I myself use a fan forced oven which means both elements are on, but the fan helps move the air around resulting in a more evenly baked cake. but if you don't have a fan forced oven then as the others have kindly stated, using the bottom element works best to prevent an overbaked cake :)
