You don’t need to take away the 2.5 from the 5 cm isn’t it you add them together and then you add those with the measurement you get from the floor to the centre of the radiator valve and that’s where you put the marking for the bottom of the bracket?

It’s not really a how to fit a radiator start to finish, it’s just a quick tip for getting the height correct. For horizontal just put the radiator against the wall and draw a mark where brackets are
