That area by the front wheel is not a cleaner, it's the pop-out Lidar sensor.

@@DomiSof Not on the one I took for a test drive in Sanya. There are 4 Lidar sensors, one above the windscreen which pops up, a fixed one at the rear and pop out ones on either side by the front wheels.

What no self driving? No Yoke steering wheel? So I do like the design of the car, I think Lotus did a heckuva job here in terms of the over aesthetics, and the seats are so outrageously functional, and plush. I’m wondering, will they come in different colors in terms of materials in the interior space? So for a 100 grand, 0 to 100 in under 2.78 seconds isn’t impressive, as no one needs to go that fast, unless of course you’re trying to commit suicide, which I am not. So I drive a 2024 Tesla Model S, and I don’t have to tell you that it is in the top of the range of any car, past or present in terms of its performance, because Tesla cars are just that good, in fact, all electric cars are great performance cars, but for a whopping 100 grand, I think you’re gonna have to at least have some form of self driving, because once people start to see Tesla, cars, and let’s face it, Tesla is going to be the first, to get there, as no one else is even close to catching up with them in terms of their ability to innovate, and if you can’t out innovate them, then you will always be just trying to keep paste with them, and if that’s all you can do, then you’re not winning the race. So when the driving public figures out that’ it’s not only far preferable to have your car drive you around, but it’s a lot safer too, and so when that happens, it’s game over, because soon I will be able to just summon my car with my phone to pick me up at curbside, and drive me to my destination, and I never have to touch the steering wheel. That’s what autonomous driving cars will have to have in order to keep up with Tesla, otherwise they will simply not survive in my opinion. So thanks for the video, I think you did a great job in presenting all the features of this exciting new Tesla knock off, but you need to do another review once you get a chance to actually take it on the road, and see how it drives in order to evaluate the ride quality and all the other features you talked about in the video. Cheers 🥂

Except there are people who like to drive for pleasure as I do. A self driving car or even a ubiquitous super cheap robo-taxi would be great in many instances particularly in an urban environment. However, I’ll be interested what Geely can do with Lotus as a brand. These initial Lotus models are big, heavy and expensive although impressive. However, the Theory One concept does perhaps suggest a return to first principles where in the electric era, there will be smaller, lighter, more efficient and affordable enthusiast models produced. There is a market and even the possibility of winning over some petrol heads for electric sports cars. Smaller more energy dense batteries will surely bring the weight down, improve dynamics and increase range. Even with current technology manufacturers are already trying to make EVs that appeal to heart as well as head such as the Ioniq 5N, Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, MG Cyberster & GTX/VZ variants of VAG cars. So yes Tesla will be a major player in personal transportation as a convenience and service but I’m sure there will be a market for enthusiast cars in the post ICE age and Lotus as a brand could cater for part of that segment.
