2:55 Pre production discussion are great for hashing out the details and refining the message into key nuggets. I use this method at my corporate video production job all the time! Lately though I have moved into a broader set of consultative role on content production which makes this method hard to scale. [Not a sales pitch] I have implemented a new video recording platform, VidGrid. It allows our PLM and marketers to record and upload from a single link. On the backend we can run auto captions that are exported to .docx for refinement. So the new method is: Initial consultation call to establish the audience message delivery format and key details of the project Send them a record link, They do a rough draft free form discussion We use that rough drafts caption file as a basis for the script. Record again final version I have access to the recordings in the cloud for editing in templates I've made for camtasia or premiere.

If you are doing so much editing, what is the assistant editor doing? Why not just edit the whole thing yourself?

Yeeessssss!!!! 🤘🏽. This is what I’m talking bout! I definitely need to script my content better. Usually just use built points cause I’m definitely all over the place in my thinking. Lol. Step 2!!! Batch recording!! Ahhh I need to do this especially for my personal finance vids. I always forget about this one! Appreciate this one so much! Nicely done Amanda! 🙌🏽

Yeaaaaah batching is everything. Vlogs are fun to watch but totally impractical in terms of sustainability.

@@AmandaHorvath Be careful Amanda, many of the links in the video description are broken :( I wanted to watch your content about "scripts" as you say in the video, but the link "Write Your Brand Video Script" amandahorvath.site/brandvideos... goes to nowhere! It's the same for several other links. Thanks for you channel, it is cool!

Ah man! Thanks for telling me that. I will fix this. Hard to keep track of them all. I'm doing a free live training this week with all updated info! Would love to have you there: amandahorvath.site/register

What is the 80% edition your video assistant are doing? I too sync the audio and video myself since I know where are the good takes (this takes me some time too though) and then send it to the assistant with a Loom video link of me going through the footage and detailing what do I want from the edition. (Instead of writing each time frame that needs to be changed) So again, I'm wondering what types of edition your assistant does? I usually only ask for motion graphics, transition, endscreen and background music. Should I ask something more? I feel sometimes that the editor takes too much time and I need to pressure to get the footage back in order to publish it.

Very helpful. My biggest hold-up in doing video for my own company and for clients is how to best capture the footage so I don't have to go back and watch ALL of it before passing it on to my Assistant for editing. I currently use my iPhone 11 for film, I have a Sony audio recorder, and use iMovie for basic editing. How can I make this process more streamlined as I now have 6 clients who I'm doing video for on a pretty consistent monthly basis. Thanks for the feedback! 👍

You said you use adobe premier for the program correct? How do you include transition slides in between steps. Is that also from Adobe premier?
@AmandaHorvath4 жыл бұрын
blessedkims check out my video on DIY graphics! You can probably type my name is + graphics to KZbin and that video will pop up. AMAZING hack that can only be used in premiere. PS. If you don't yet have premiere and want to get it - I'd looooove if you used my affiliate link! It's listed on this page: www.amandahorvath.com/gear I barely get a cut but every dollar helps to keep these videos free! If you already have it, no worries 😎💁♀️

Hi Amanda, I'm about to hire a YT editor via upwork. My plan is to shoot all my footage (A&B-roll) and send all that stuff to the editor along with the script. I'll have the editor put together the intro, the outro and the effects... I'm not shooting in 4K, just in 1080p. Did you do it this way in the past?
@erikleung57304 жыл бұрын
What pitfalls am I not seeing if I do it this way?
@AmandaHorvath4 жыл бұрын
Erik's Graphics I definitely have 😁 it's always a fun experiment to see how it turns out. Sometimes you hit the gold and other times you're left scratching your head and saying "I could edit better than that!", even if you're a newbie. Keep me updated with how it goes!! Would love to hear what you learn in the process. I'll def have more videos coming out on outsourcing soooo stay tuned. Add me on IG and I'd love to see the edited video 😎@ahvisions

Hey Amanda, love your videos, really helpful and exactly what I was looking for... I wanted to ask, what if one has their slides already made for the whole course, do you still suggest that we choose video over slides & voice overs? Video as you have mentioned in your videos becomes very overwhelming especially for starters and slides and voice over is easier than constantly looking at the lens the whole time. I have a lot of content but already have the slides prepared. Each of my video is going to be around 30 mins long and have around 100 videos to shoot... What would you suggest? i was thinking Slides and voice overs plus a small video box at the bottom corner of the screen showing me teaching without looking at the camera? :S

Funny how most of these channels who provide tips and tricks to magically override youtube algorithm and promise to magically grow youtube channels tend to have the most horrible view count, watch time and subscriber growth of their own channel.
