Hard to believe…my e-form application for a suppressor took 11 3/4 MONTHS! Applied April 10, 2023 and Received the approval April 3, 2024 after I contacted the US Senators from my state to complain….and I had the Tax Stamp 3 days later! Why would my application take just short of a year? I have 3 other NFA stamps and none took this long!

Just picked up my first suppressor this past Thursday. I ordered it and put on layaway with the local ffl on March 8th so my actual “wait time” was a little over thirty days. But I believe that was due to my 1st time paperwork getting squared away and also the ffl had to order it to transfer to themselves. But my wait time from actual submitting was only 1 day!

Feb 26 submission. Still no approval on a single shot trust. Seems like there are some not making it into this “fast approval” pipeline. (8th submission through Silencer shop so that’s not it).

So, 5 days in on a order through silencer shop and still haven’t gotten forms to docusign or certify anything, purchased another suppressor from my normal ffl and did eforms there on the spot, mailed in my prints and hand my approval in 15 days and that was with snail mail no tracking of my prints.

The biggest hurdle to the system is lack of customer service, form 3s and the god awful 2 month waiting period to get silencers certified. You sit on hold for hours waiting for someone to answer ask your question and then they go I'm not sure and hangs up the phone. Its better to just sit with local gun shops anymore.

Another one that is at 7 1/2 months and Silencerco still has not give me my free suppressor from last year’s Bogo said they had to send them back to check welds but no word been 9 months on that as well always used the silencer shop kiosk

LOL yup they took 11 days to even send notification to certify after my form 3's were approved by atf in 2 days , still have yet to receive the cans at my SOT , tried for 3 days with my dealer to get the certification process done , which is through their system ...just NOW finished getting them certified for form 4 after 3 days of pure hell on their system .... spits out error messages non stop ... after they give you an hour ...nothing works.. The whole process was like pulling teeth.....I will never buy from them again ....fuq that !

It took over a month to get the Form 3 processed and for the suppressor to be shipped to my dealer. It was certified and the Form 4 application was sent on 04-12-24, so hopefully it gets approved within the next 3-4 months. (My last one took about 11 months, but that was about 10 years ago, and was way more involved in applying for it)

Communication at SilencerShop and ATF is awful. Can't discuss form 4 issues with anyone. I went through the certification and withdraw process twice, due to my name missing in box 2 of the ATF copy of the Form 4. I've reached out to the ATF (Ask the experts) and SilencerShop twice for recommendations, but no response from anyone. I did call the ATF NFA phone number and the first time they said the status was, 'Problem'. I followed up a week later and was told 'Pending' so not sure what is going on.

Bought 2 suppressors from Silencer Shop, all paperwork done, but Suppressor shop has not shipped them to my local dealer yet, so my local dealer can Certify and send the paperwork to the ATF, a day after i bought those two i bought another from my local FFL Dealer used the kiosks and that was certified 22 days ago, so whats going on SS? But wait! Couple weeks ago i bought my 4th suppressor from another local FFL dealer, waited a week for an appointment, filled out paperwork, did electronic fingerprints on their machine took a picture and all submitted to the ATF RIGHT THEN! Sorry wont ever buy another silencer from silencer shop, there is no reason to not ship my suppressors to my local FFL Dealer 3:43

Consensus on the internet is that Silencer Shop is dragging their feet certifying paperwork before submitting the form 4, which is dominating the wait times now. Do you have any comment?

We still have to go through the Form 3 approval and shipping time to the dealer, which on average takes 2-3 weeks. Definitely not dragging our feet, we still have to do all of the compliance work on the backend!

Any ideas why someone else would get a faster approval than you? I ask cause I went to go pick up my lower receiver from my FFL dealer today. And a guy was there picking up his very first suppressor. I have questions for the people who are having fast approval times. Have you had a background check for a silencer previously? Have you passed a background check for a firearm recently? I reside in Colorado, so we all know how that's going. That's why I am a little hesitant because of the normal wait times and this law may go into affect July 1st 2024. Hey I made a deal to purchase a wolverine from a dude, no dealer no FFL just simple individual to individual. We turned in the paper work, physical paper, not Eforms. Tracking shows the packet was picked up by ATF on 4/20/2024. How fast will this be?
