Informative. However, the Drivers Extract is now invalid and will not be of any use as they now request for a Letter from the Nigerian Embassy. Getting this letter is not an issue. Check online for the Drive History Letter from Nigerian Embassy and you will see the requirements. Cost you $100 Money order and you need to send it with a self addressed envelope. Everything is around a $150. Good luck guys.

You can send a request to [e-mail], you'll however need to call their call center to make arrangements for them to send it to you. The other option is to apply through the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa (nigeriahcottawa.ca/drivers-license-letter/).

You can't drive with a G1 license without an experienced driver with you. Research other limitations. I'm not sure about buying a car with a G1 license tho. You can call/visit any dealership to find out.

You get G1 after passing the knowledge test, it's a learning permit. You can only drive with an instructor.

Depending on which province you're visiting, you may be able to drive with your license for a short duration. Check online for the address of the province's ministry of transportation. Also, you shouldn't need a Canadian drivers license if you're only coming here for a visit.

The purpose of the extract is to prove how long you've been driving. I'm not sure if 1 year is enough. It's your decision.
