Been playing guitar for many years and sweeping accurately is one technique that has been "sloppy" for me (to say the least). I tried this left hand exercise for just about 15 minutes and my sweeping went from sloppy to quite good. I'm surprised I never thought of this easy exercise before. Thanks David.

David, I am recovering from Golfer's Elbow due to bike pulling out of mud! But I have been asked to slow down on my guitar play which is 144-166 bpm for rhythm and 96-120 bpm for lead. This lesson came in the exact time while I am re-developing my technique to avoid injuries due to guitar. Good work man, keep up.

Hi David. There are lots of great guitar lessons on you tube and yours are in the top. I believe that one thing is missing that nobody has really tried. I would love to see a series of lessons where the master teaches the student in an unrehearsed format. A mediocre student guitarist soloing with some live critiques along the way. All kinds of excellent stuff with come from this. Bad habits will be exposed and corrected. I believe that bad mechanics from mediocre guitarists can get in the way of optimizing the stuff that the teachers are teaching. I really think this would be well received, increase following, likes and subscriptions. I think you are the guy to do it very well.

They're fantastic but also hit and miss. I sent mine back because I ordered a roasted flamed maple fretboard and only got flame on one fret. On top of that, the nut was cut WAY too deep so there was pretty bad string buzz on the G an B. Here is the kicker: when you send a guitar back, they resell it. When they listed the options on mine, they listed it as having a roasted maple fretboard instead of a roasted flamed maple fretboard so they know damn well that I got jipped. Edit: that being said, it was the most comfortable guitar I have ever played. Kiesel knows how to shape a neck and the balance on all their guitars is immaculate. I might buy from them again if I can get a refund for that flamed option.
@austinmorris44715 жыл бұрын
I’ve been considering a Kiesel guitar and to me their only bad quality is their website. They have no visualizer on their website and the rest of the site looks like it was built in the 90’s, so you will have no idea of how your guitar is going to look.

im not sure i get this... how can you sweep pick when there are more than 1 note on a string? in this example, you play two notes on the high E. This throws off my sweep because I need to "go back to alternate pick" it.. anyone have any tips? I've found I can do a hammer on the last note during the down sweep and then start the up swee at the 4th fret -- is this the right technique?

I've been working on a short sweep picking phrase for a total of 18 hours now and I'm no faster than I was the first time I played it. My problem isnt my left hand but instead my right. I cant get the sound of sweeping down and when I strum it just gets caught along the way. Also I cant figure out how to mute the strings behind the ones I'm playing.

I've played guitar for 47 years, and I can't even pull off the first exercise. My pinkie isn't capable of that stretch. I can get the pinkie on, but then all the other fingers are out of alignment. Also, my hands and fingers don't co-ordinate as required. I can do my own thing though. So, there's that.

I have come to this conclusion. Some people are great conversationalists. Some are terrible at conversation, and struggle horribly to find the right words to express their thoughts. Some are total scatterbrains. Since music is a language, this must transfer over to playing. Same problems. Word flow and sentence structure, transpose into fretboard chaos, trouble finding the right words=trouble finding the right notes or patterns.
