I am Vietnamese. The Hmong dog is a native dog breed. They are not as expensive as people think. They are cute when they are young but will get taller and longer as they grow up, so think carefully before keeping them as pets. Hmong dogs are used by indigenous people to guard their homes because they protect their territory very well.

Vietnamese here. We actually recognized up to 4 dog breeds as national breed including: Bắc Hà, Lài (Dingo Đông Phương), Hmong and Phú Quốc (which is actually popularly known than the rest). Most of them are breed to hunt and known for their intelligence and loyalty so people here keep them to guard or to train to aid the police. But since the Vietnamese are quite bad at "marketing" them and present these babies to the world, these breed became a niche for the dog lovers.

That’s not the reason they’re not recognized. They’re not FCI yet, a lot more goes into recognition than quantity. Luckily the recent 4 imports will kick off the foundations for the breed here. Our breed club site (Hmong Bobtail club of America) is a great source to learn from!💕

KOMONDORs , just like the PULI, both ancient breeds of the Hungarian shepherds to care for livestock! Their look comes from the corded, thick coat- what , like many double haired breeds-, protects the dog from the heat and sun in the summer, and the cold in the winter, isolating the skin. Needs to be regularly very tediously separated, otherwise they get into mats. These breeds are both- as working herders- super intelligent, agile, loyal, and highly trainable. As with all working breeds, and specially herders, the challenge is to keep them ACTIVE AND BUSY - both physically and mentally! If the don’t get the “ workout “ and just left to be bored, they can get destructive. Not the dog, or the breed’s fault! Owners need to understand, the work and responsibility, what comes with these fabulous animals!!! Joy, gorgeous, and exceptional companions! It’s also useful, if you have a bit of land for them to roam 😆😆

A kommodore I knew, while not being the friendliest, was a great sheepdog. There were a few occasions where there were wolves with broken necks near the sheep’s normal grazing. These are powerful dogs! The owners told me that she went missing years ago.

@@wheelman1324 The Komondor ♥️ They are usually one owner type of dogs. Rugged a bit, like Pyrenese. As they need to be kinda independent and strong to care for the property and livestock. But they are extremely loyal and living, when it comes to their family. However, I can be, that someone wanted to harm the poor guard dog on duty… and even the best guard dogs cannot do much against cruel people. ( Hope it was not that scenario)

@@funfan515 I think she just didn’t trust me. She wasn’t mine. I was just your local UPS guy and I saw the family from time to time.

Okay, the Bedlington Terrier looks more like an albino Xenomorph than a pickle.
