We had a Boerboel, Jessie, she saved my daughter from being attacked by an Egyptian Cobra. She jumped between the snake and my daughter, as the snake was ready to strike. The snake’s fangs went right through the soft flesh of her cheek. That saved Jessie’s life because all the venom was sprayed in the open air without entering her body. It angered Jessie even more and she threw the snake high up in the air, ending up killing it, and saving my daughter’s life. Sadly she passed away a few years later from cancer. What a legend.

My neighbour's Cane Corso was barking non-stop for couple of months because he was negligent of him and kept him locked up all the time. One day, he let him out for couple of minutes and Cane Corso killed 3 of his dogs. He didn't put it to sleep and he has 4 more dogs, 3 of them puppies in this yard. Some people shouldn't be allowed to own dogs.

@@messywebdev He is neighbor near our vacation house. Unfortunately, there is nothing like animal control/care center there and some people have called the police but they are far away and can't be bothered with "animal stuff". It's really sad seeing these animals suffer. I got puppy 2 months ago and I can't imagine leaving him without proper care for a day, let alone couple of months. I know it's harsh but he should just put Cane Corso to sleep. It's obvious that he is in a lot of pain and mentally unstable and he is far beyond training.

I got a Rhodesian Ridgeback 6 years ago as a 2 year old and she has been wonderful. I found her at the dog pound where her previous owner had relinquished her. She was a wild one when I first adopted her, and I began strict training on day 2. Now she lives calmly with my 4 cats and goes with me everywhere. While she is great with most people, she has shown a protective aggressiveness towards men that she deems to be a threat. She also doesn't tolerate very many other dogs when we are out in public. I have to be firm with her at all times since she will still test me from time to time. Overall, she is a great dog but would be difficult for an inexperienced owner to handle.

I lost my dogo argentino the last week of October 2022. Abby was without question, the most emotionally developed and loving, intelligent dog. A couple weeks before she passed, a man was having a mental breakdown and came on our property and despite her showing aggression he ran up to her seeking protection and i was able to keep her from protecting us and physically attacking him by simple command of "stand down". Despite the event being so stressful and seemingly a justifiable moment that called for a protective attack - she understood and followed direction perfectly. The BEST dog I have ever known or kept. Agree that you must be a qualified owner that understands this breed. (*The thumbnail of dog holding a pine cone as if its thw dogs teeth = 🤣😂)

We got an Amstaff and he is the most loyal, affectionate, patient, and loving to us, to our relatives, and friends. If we meet strangers outside he observes our behavior first if he sense that we are ok and the stranger is nice to us he is friendly. If he knows we don’t feel comfortable with the stranger he keenly kept watch; his eyes are the only ones that moves while he stay still. He saves my dad from 2 heart attacks. We noticed that he senses someone is sick one week before the person show symptoms. He is a life saver. We always kiss him and we say “ I love you “ all the time. He was a rescue dog from a shelter. It is NOT the breed that gives a dog a bad reputation it is how the dog get trained. It was mentioned many times from this video that the dogs were “ trained to be a watch dog “ or “ for dog fighting “.

When I was a boy my mom bred and raised Pekingese for years, and she had only one male who was aggressive, and only when his food was being messed with. The females especially were sweet and did just fine with small children and other dogs. The males were always a bit standoffish, but never aggressive toward kids or dogs. I'm surprised to see it here, but then breeders have been screwing up dogs, inbreeding to gain certain "award" characteristics and sometimes totally screwing up their personalities, so Pekes might be a whole different critter since the 1960s.

This list really surprised me. There are many other breeds that are truly banned in most countries for various reasons. As others have said, if you are going to have ANY animal, YOU are responsible for training and ensuring the safety of your animal and those around you. I did large dog senior rescue for 20 years.... the most problematic were not because of ther breed, but due to abuse, neglect and being trained to be vicious. From your video I have had the following: Chow Chow - definitely sketchy even when trained, would not have again Pekingeses = sweetest little furbabies every, but very headstrong and require training Cane Corso - lap puppy and could detect seizures, adopted at 7, he became quite unpredictable around 9 (old age senility we think) Shar-Peis & Shar-Pei/Bloodhound - have had several, definitely require training and supervision, but can be love bunnies with adults, don't like being "poked" so playing with kids was not a thing we did Akitas - biggest love muffins, but trained from puppies, great with kids, other dogs...while being fiercely protective - must have an Alpha owner The BEST FAMILY BIG dog ever has to be the Newfoundlands (Newfi), we loved ours We had a Maremmano d'Abruzzese,Cane da pastore Maremmano d'Abruzzese (125lbs at 10 months) for a 600 acre woodland farm...had to move to 3 acres, way too small,l got bored...rehomed to 1200 acre ranch.... BOTTOM LINE: YOU must be responsible, do your research and train any animal you bring home. Volunteer to foster some dogs for a while, so you can judge temperment. We did and we decided, Dobermans and Chows were not for us. You could NEVER turn your back on the Doberman. Our English Bulldogs were adorable, but multiply by 20 what you think you'll spend a year on them (vet, special food, chew toys, orthopedic beds... .the list goes on ) - plus as cute as they are they often pee in their sleep, snore like a freight train and they really don't like backing up...they would rather go through whatever is in front of them.

you are right, dog owners need to learn how to be Alpha or else the dog wont listen. i am a Chow-Chow owner. i had 16 and they were all disciplined and very very loyal to me but not to strangers. when im angry (to people or to other dogs) they will be angry too and will be ready to attack. no wonder they were the only dog in the world that are written in history, being companions of soldiers in China when they battle their enemies. they could be very sweet and calm, but only if they see you as their Alpha.

Don't you notice a pattern here with your dog experiences. I'm a very experienced dog owner myself. I was raised with aggressive dogs. Where I LEARNED as a CHILD.... Why is it you are attracted to dogs that are more aggressive than other breeds? I find this trait a highly moronic view for the public to have. Why are we breeding dogs that we bread for centuries to become killers in a world that no longer requires aggressive dogs. I get it. I really do, but let us not be stupid. From this point on! All humans, from every country. Should and Need to, breed the dogs that are compatible with our evolution/generation. Go ahead, talk shit. I know someone whose son was ripped apart by 2 dogs. (He was 6 & killed) You think it's all okay until it happens to you. So clear your mind, do not be stupid. Stop breeding aggressive human companions. Stop BUYING THEM! If they can't be adopted, there is a reason for this. Besides this point that infuriates me, you make great points about responsible ownership. I agree it is unequivocally the leading cause of dog attacks.

When showing chow-chow some of those were actual chows but some presented as chows were actually Tibetan mastiffs. Also I don't think banning dog breeds is the answer. As they put more and more breeds to be banned eventually all breeds will end up being illegal to own. In some places even greyhounds are banned. And its usually the owner not the dog.

As a teenager, I once helped raise/care for a Rodisian Ridgeback. It was such a beautiful dog, sweet with high-energy & never showed any signs of aggression, I never even saw it get fussy or mad once…BUT it grew very quickly & I remember it had a very large paw size relative to its body size, it could easily have toppled me over if it tried. When he jumped up, he was easily taller than me (I am 5’3) so once he reached a certain size, I no longer felt I could maintain control of him if he ever got out of hand so I stopped taking care of him.

Cane Corso is the most memorable breed ive ever had in my family, such a sweet big breed, not violent at all. They are very good with children and very family protective, saved us from burglars twice! Thats not all but Cane's have an amazing memory, one of our cane's was mistreated by a man and when he was full grown he still remembered that guy after not seeing him for years. So honestly to me cane's are wrong to be on the first place here, in fact they are very reliable, predictable (if you understand them) trusty companions. There are a lot more breeds that require more attention to domesticate the right way. I still have the Urns of my Cane's, very highly intelligent powerfull breed, great family dog that can also be kept as a guard dog. I trusted mine with my life, they were trained but its def not the most difficult breed ive worked with, on the contrary. if treated right they're just big sweet cuddlebears. Now we have a pomeranian and staffy in our family, the staffy is a sweetie sometimes stubborn but theres not a single bit of violence in her (unless if its to protect the family), we have a 2 year old son and both are doing amazing with him. The staffy really really likes the cuddle-attention My father in law had a big fear of staffies, ours changed his mind, he passed away but our staffy became his best friend. That often happens here, once people meet our dogs they often get a diff opinion about them. Its all about how you treat/train them, id say 99% of the dog accidents the dog isnt at fault. Breeds shouldnt be banned, some people should be banned to have them. And well some breeds just arent for you..., like i wouldnt want a border collie in my family just because i dont have the space that breed requires. Same with huskies, i love them but i wouldnt want one where i live now (space + climate). ive had and trained dogs my entire life

I think most dogs, especially these high energy & territorial dogs that are more prone to be potentially aggressive will tend to do best when they have actual territory to protect & lots of space to exert their energy 😊 I would honestly not keep most dogs living in an apartment or a home without significant space unless the breed did well with that sort of space & I had the time to walk them regularly & socialize them. I believe dogs deserve lots of land to run around & protect, that’s their nature. Especially these poor breeds that tend to get bad reputations, it’s not fair to them.

One typically discusses whether it is nature or nurture. It’s most often a mixture of both. A “tough” breed can be docile as a reflection of it’s upbringing. What I notice often is that trigger points will make a breed rely on it’s inherited instincts. There are also a lot of owners/parents who have no business having a pet that simply does not belong in their environment. Think of a Husky in Texas, left to live in an apartment. This dog will not excel and will act out as result - this gives way to a regression. A lot of these guard dog types a lot of times lack true training and lack stimulation to exercise their ways in a healthy manner. As a human constricted would act out, so would a dog. If one is lacking in exposure how one would act?

All dogs can be dangerous. It depends on how they are trained and treated . Certain breeds are too overprotective to their food , owners or family . For instance pitbulls are actually really intelligent, so they can learn quickly. it’s just their alpha mentality. You have to make them see that your the leader. Just don’t abuse them and don’t keep them couped up in the house or kennel. They like running playing and chasing things You can teach them to be docile around humans but other animals and pets that aren’t yours are a different story.

I have a dog that's a mix of 7 breeds, we adopted him. He had been abandoned in a rental home for a while. We got him DNA tested and he's a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute/Chow Chow/Rottweiler/American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer/American Bulldog mix. He's got a deep bark and most people cross the road when we walk him, but he's an absolute sweetheart.

This video is very informative. A very key point is that a lot of these dogs are a certain way with regards to their owner and their owner's 'property', including children. A lot of people don't understand dogs and this video highlighted that each dog has particular training, exercise and social needs that many owners don't have the first clue about, they just wanted 'the fluffy blonde one'. Then trouble starts when their sweet dog does something unexpected.

I’ve been attacked by dogs twice in my lifetime. Once when I was 8 years old by a Rottweiler who escaped from the neighbor’s back yard, and the second time by two pitbulls whose owner couldn’t hold onto the leash. Needless to say, I avoid these types of dogs now.

I have owned 3, Staffordshire bull terrier dogs. I live in the UK, and these dogs do have a reputation for being aggressive. I beg to very much differ with that belief, as it most definitely does come down to the owners, and whether they've been training with their bull terrior breds? I had my pedigree bull dogs since they were 8, weeks old, and started training then as soon as they hit 12 weeks old. They extremely very loyal dogs, great with families, and very, very loyal protectors. They're very active dogs, so plenty exercise, discipline firm voice training, is most definitely necessary for vital for the owners, as well as these type of dogs. 😊

I used to have a very sweet chowchow before but she’s with brother now. And now, I have a cane corso but I’ve trained her to socialize with other dogs, she’s so sweet and I can walk with her without leash. She’s 2 yrs old now and I’ve never seen her fighting with other dog and no aggressiveness at all. I think it is always depends how the dog’s owner treat and raise their dogs. ❤

My best friend is a 6 year old Dogo Argentino, and she's the best dog I've ever been blessed to have! Truly my heart! She listens to my every command and even today we train regularly! She is my 100 pound lap dog who just wants to lick your face off!! Lol We have 3 dogs and 2 cats. A 16 year old Beagle, an 11 year old Teacup Chihuahua and our 6 year old Dogo Argentino. Our 2 pound Chihuahua is the boss!! 😂 Every dog has the ability to be an aggressive breed, it all depends on the owner and how they are raised!! I honestly believe that dogs feed off their masters energy, if you're a very timid and nervous person, your dog is going to be a nervous dog and that could be very dangerous! You absolutely must be in control of yourself and be a pack leader, your dog(s) depend on that!! Please don't get a dog that you can't handle!!

One of my good friends lost 1/4 of her calf to a Sharpei. As she was picking up the mail, the dog approached her WITHOUT A SOUND and sank its teeth into her leg, and did not let go despite her screams. She was very traumatized and had to have therapy, emotional as well as physical. She wore nothing but pants from then on because of the scar. She often spoke of getting surgery to "fill " the missing part of her calf, and I hope she did. Some dogs just aren't meant for weak or irresponsible owners

Really liked this video. I had a "fila brasileiro" back in the 80s, and that dog was so violent we had to return her to the kennel from where we got her originally. Once this dog is on the war path, that's it for the victim... They attack with no prior notice. You need to have it from 3 months of age and be able to exert full control over the animal, or else you might be in danger.

A black boerboel showed up on our porch at mid night. It’s easy to say that we were terrified (we being me and my brother). We weren’t sure what to do so we very slightly opened the door to see how he was with people. He was actually such a sweet dog that you wouldn’t even be able to imagine, he didn’t mind us and came for pets. We were really careful with checking his collar and called up his owner.

My neighbor had a fila brasileiro, the dog knew me and I had contact with the dog pretty often, one day it escaped from my neighbor's house, I tried calling my neighbor but he didn't answer, the dog came close to me and I tried to grab it, but a truck passed by and scared the dog, the dog bite me in both of my hands and released the grip almost instanly. the dog was even bigger than I am but I was really lucky that it was just a little bite, none the less, I had a open wound but luckily nothing really bad for a fila bite, it could've gone waaay worse. I learned a lesson that day, don't trust dogs that aren't yours, even if they know you for years.

Had very little trouble from my chows & very little from my dobies. Doberman is my favorite breed. Super smart & mostly easy to train. They can be comical around family. Alert & athletic with a graceful & regal look. Lol. Yes indeed my favorite. I've heard them described as "Velcro" dogs due to them wanting to be as near to their owner as possible. They do need exercise & things to do. They kind of consider it their job to make their person as happy as they can all day.

They transported me the the hospital ER, and I was admitted.; ER personnel were also unable to rouse me. When I finally awoke, the doctor told me I had been in a diabetic coma. Had my dog not alerted my husband,, I would have died. His breed may be banned in several states, so I will just avoid those states!
