In this video I crash my Supermoto and discuss why I bought a Husqvarna 701 Supermoto. I could have bought another sport bike (specifically that Ducati Panigale V4), but I wanted to bring something new and exciting to the channel. I’ve also owned several sport bikes, and I wanted to try something different. In addition, the Husqvarna 701 supermoto will be a great bike to start doing track days on and learn how to wheelie properly. I am genuinely looking forward to seeing the content I am able to create on the Huqvarna 701 supermoto.
I also head to the BP in downtown where I see a 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R SP. This was my first time seeing this bike and MAN that thing is SWEET!
Do you think I should’ve bought another sport bike or was it a good decision to go with the Supermoto?!

Bro i feel your pain. Wrecked my 701 enduro 5 days after buying it. Only has 43.6 miles. In the shop getting repaired now. Can't wait to ride again however. I own several bike but the 701 hp to weight ratio is amazing.

Hey I just found you as I'm doing a lot of research on the 701 as I'm wanting to buy one. One thing I have found is it's recommended to change the handguards to full metal ones. The 701 stock guards are just aluminum arms at the end screwed into plastic and in harder layovers they have a tendency to break and in some cases fold over and pinch the riders hand against the bar. Just thought I would pass along the info.

thats what i love about dirtbikes and supermotos theyre basically made to be dropped lol i would definitely recommend you get some decent hand guards to protect your bars and levers the stock ones break instantly id get some zeta ones or even just some cheap no name ones are better than stock my 690 had plastic ones too, oh and warp9racing makes some nice crash pegs that fit your 701 they have the ones that go through the front axle and the ones that replace your chain adjustment block and it has delrin plastic pegs that stick out and its already saved my 530exc when i looped it on a wheelie you can see where it grinded down the peg where it would have been my rim or swing arm they are super worth it

I have a husaberg fe390 and a ktm xc-w 250 (dirt bikes) but if I ever get into road riding other than the husaberg (the husaberg is road legal) there is a good chance I would get a supermoto because supermotos are almost never going to match or do as good as sports bikes just because they are not specifically made for the road BUT they are the most playful bikes you can get. they are great for wheelies, quick maneuvering, and just being a special bike in general.

Supermoto's usually have more maintenance to keep up with, right? Another vlogger here on KZbin has one and he changes the oil and cleans the chain after every ride or something. That's wild, way too much work for me. :)

If you convert a dirt bike into a supermoto, then yes the maintenance can be tedious as they are not made to be ridden on the street. However, supermotos like the 701 and drz400sm are made to be a little more road/maintenance friendly 🙌🏾 Nothing really too out of the ordinary compared to my R1 as far as maintenance is concerned.
