In this video I do a first ride and review of my new (to me) supermoto. It is a 2019 Husqvarna 701 supermoto. I bought the bike last week and I absolutely LOVE it. As a bigger guy, I did not want to go with a smaller cc supermoto (such as the Yamaha WR250, YZ400, or Suzuki DRZ 400). The reason being that those bikes are not as enjoyable for a larger individual like myself. I also like a bike with power and I wanted something that I could ride on the highway as well.
The Pros with the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto are that it is comfortable (seating position), it is able to cruise on the highway with no problem, it is nimble, easy to ride, easy to wheelie, and it is made in limited quanitities. I am also interested in doing some track days on this supermoto. Yes, I could ride my Yamaha R1, but its smarter to learn on a smaller motorcycle and then apply my skills to a bigger cc motorcycle.
The ONLY con with this bike is the seat and that can easily be swapped out for something softer.
The reason why I did not go with Husqvarna 701 enduro is because I wanted something that I could ride more on-road than off road. I almost bought a KTM 690 SMC R, but I could not find any good deals locally.

The wr250r, although a 250cc, is still a good bike, in my opinion. It would be great if Yamaha were to make a wr400r or a wr600r dual-sport motorcycle.

I'm 6.2 and I can't seat full foot on the ground, my cousin is 6.4 and he can't either, so I assume that you have to be at least 7, that's how huge this thing actually is KTM EXC-F 500 or Husqvarna FE 501 are like bulked version of 450, but 701 and 690 are just massive

Not the "..world's fastest." The fastest supermoto is the Maico 700 sumo and its a factory built motorcycle. Blow the doors off the 690 and 701 , its scary fast. Ive ridden the enduro version and a 690 supermoto.

You can turn ABS on and off with just making sure throttle is closed all the way. Bike can be turned on and moving. Just throttle closed. Sick bike

If you have not already need a PC5 will give you an extra 10hp in the mid-range and a bunch of torque. Might be worth getting the suspension tuned as well

That’s definitely on the list! The bike feels great stock so I can’t imagine how much better it is with a pc5 and a nice tune! Suspension is also always another game changer!
