PC3 for the most part is definitely more "realistic" in a sense that that's what you will hear if you stand 6 ft behind a car's exhaust or what you would hear if you're sitting by the stands at the race track. TCM is like a studio mix of all the sounds that are coming from the car like the intake, exhaust and other stuff. So more like what the driver would actually hear but with equalizers and sound mixing for a more pleasurable sound experience, a Hollywood mix if you would.

In all honesty, this shows how far they actually they worked on the sounds level. It might not be on par with Project Cars, but it is surely close in some ways, pretty cool I'd say (Especially when you heard how messed up 5-cyminders were messed up in The Crew 2)

I don't know about that one. Some certainly sounded more accurate, but many sounded completely wrong. Plus the audio in PC3 in general lacks a lot of depth. It feels flat and uninteresting. I would certainly say that The Crew Motorfest has better overall audio. The Crew doesn't get it perfect every car, but many in PC3 miss the mark so completely that it makes me wonder whether they even heard the cars before. That R34 was about as bad as it was in FH4. The Enzo, 458 Speciale, were just flat. The 911 Carrera S which sounds like it was ripped right out of the complete wrong car in Forza Horizon. The Hellcat and Camaro ZL1 are just vacuum cleaners with added engine noise. Looking at these, I know there's a lot more disappointing sounds in PC3 and even the good ones will be somewhat lacking considering how all car sounds were handled to begin with.

Just because I like Forza has no bearing on anything, and I plan on getting my racing sim setup soon. Just dropped a bit to get a DCS setup which I fly on regularly. Not everyone always has the money to get the setup of their dreams all at once. Takes time and insulting someone just because of what they play at that time is idiotic. You have no pedestal to stand on simply because you play a certain game. That being said, the external vehicle audio in PC3 IS sub-par. It lacks depth compared to The Crew Motorfest and especially Forza Horizon 5 which put a lot more effort into its audio than PC3 clearly. I can very much tell the difference on my humble pair of DT770s. You should be able to hear the difference even on a pair of $20 IEMs. If you can't then you have to be listening to it through a tin can and some string, because it is night and day no matter what I listen on. Do a proper comparison with some proper headphones in external view on these three and you will see.

The PC3 will win in places like some the McLaren F1 and the 720 but loose greatly in others like the Z4 GT3. The Carerra S did sound like it was ripped from Forza Horizon sadly. The R34 sounded nothing like a proper RB for that matter, especially in TCM.

TCM is more consistently good but when Project CARS has access to some quality recordings it sounds way better, for example the Corvette and AMG GT at 5:00 and 15:00 sounds exactly like a GoPro recording inside a case but the Huracan Super Trofeo and McLaren F1 at 4:42 and 15:53 sounds PRISTINE. The McLaren P1 16:29 and the Paganis from 17:28 also sounds better in Project CARS 3. Few cars that aren't in the comparison that sound great (not better because TCM doesn't have it for comparison) is the Sauber C9, Huayra BC (my fav), P1 GTR, Vantage AMR, Panoz GTR-1, CLK LM, Sesto Elemento, R8 LMS and a lot more that TCM doesn't have for comparison. Ignore this part but read if you want: Other than sound, sense of speed is insane in Project CARS 3 which makes sense considering they made NFS Shift and they had Driveclub's director and a bit of the team for the 3rd which is why it's way different than the first 2 Project CARS. The physics are perfect for gamepad. Also, the hand and head movements in the cockpit view rival TCM (TCM needs head motion). I just wished, PC3 was properly finished or atleast PC4 got released especially with that incredible UI design. TCM for me is the next best thing because I love both games, The Crew 2 and Project CARS 3. Both have challenging fun physics and you can mess around in both of them. TCM is the closest I can get to Driveclub/Project CARS 3 physics in an open world in which the game will be supported for many years to come. The fact TCM even sounds and looks this good is a very nice bonus. EDIT: I FORGOT TO MENTION. Doing a night thunderstorm race in Project CARS 3 with 31 AI cars on the grid and starting from last place is AMAZING except the fact the water particles blind you if you have your headlights on. Few underrated things in Project CARS 3 that I wished every game has. The head motion (NFS Shift/Driveclub also has this), it's dynamic time/weather control and tiny things like control of the lights which most simulator games do have and MANUAL OVERRIDE. That's when, even if you choose automatic shifting and the game shifts for you (no matter the car), you can manually shift earlier or choose to downshift into redline which the game tries to shift out of. In most games once you choose automatic, you have no control over the gears.

some of yall be trippin 😭TCM wins like 90% of the sound comparisons as TCM sounds feel way more dramatic and full, with all the turbo spooling an dblowoff sounds, and the transmission whine in some of the race cars. the sounds in PC3 sound a bit dry and bland, although they arent that bad. TCM also beats them graphics wise and car model wise, and in some of the suspension physics as the cars suspension react to the shifts and bumps in the road more realistically. No hate to PC3 as it is an older game but im pretty sure TCM takes the cake for most of the sounds and graphics.

PC3 got the EV noises way better than TCM. In TCM all EVs sound way too dramatic to the point it's hilarious. In PC3 it's not overdone and when you let off the throttle it doesn't sound like you have a hyperdrive that is spooling down.

The Crew Motorfest has BY FAR way better sound quality than Project CARS 3. I don't care how accurate PCARS3 sounds are, if they sound like they were recorded on a Nokia, then it doesn't do it for me. The Crew Motorfest has the CLEANEST, CLEAREST engine sounds in gaming. There is no "static" noise, no weird echo and no "generated" sounds in the audio sampling at all They have perfected the Bass of the sound reverbing through your headphones, perfected the acceleration and deceleration noises and went into so much detail as to add mechanical noises such as transmission sounds and gear clutch noises. As well as that, you can almost HEAR the pistons slamming up and down in the engine noises in The Crew Motorfest, making the sounds feel REAL whether they are accurate or not. This is something Forza, Project CARS, Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo, Driveclub (hot take), Need For Speed and a large variety of racing games failed to master. PROPER sound quality, without cutting corners or over-exaggerating it. Sounding as real and as immersive as possible Which is why I will say The Crew Motorfest sounds much better than Project CARS 3 as TCM sounds are easier and much more blissful to the ears than the "noise" PCARS3 has to offer. I mean, just take a listen to that Porsche Carrera GT 3:53

The Crew Motorfest brought back NFS Blackbox car sounds this is what a modern Blackbox racing would sound like The Crew Motorfest. There has to be devs there that are fans of those games and wanted to replicate the essence of those sounds the best as they could in this game. The sounds are give and take, but TCM's shift sounds take the immersion right out of the game. Every single car sounds like it uses a single clutch sequential manual from the 2000s when there are far more transmissions out there, such as a Torque converter Automatic, Multi-Clutch automatic, Dual Clutch Transmission, Sequential Automatic, Straight-cut manual, or a Helical (traditional) Manual, which all have a very distinct profile when shifting. At the very least, PC3 either does a DCT, Manual, or single clutch sequential, with some variations on each.

Each car has the same background bass to it in TCM and I don't know why but it is really bothering me. It makes them sound like NFS: Unbound sounds which I am not a big fan of. I think they should've gone for more realistic raw sounds or make the background bass thing sound different in different cars.

I think The Crew won this sound comparison. Namely because the sounds are more consistent and all sound exceptionally good. The flat-plane V8 sounds are more accurate and not so flat compared to Project Cars 3, and Project Cars has more inaccurate sounds, like some sound way off. For example, the 2016 Ford GT LM Racing sounds way off in Project Cars 3 and doesn't capture the V6 "growl", as well sounding more like a beefed up four cylinder, rather than a six. Finally, another example is the 2002 Ferrari Enzo, which sounds flat and doesn't scream at you like The Crew's does. That's my opinion, at least.
