The ferryman one kinda made me feel sadness. That sculpture holds so much meaning to somebody who’s struggling with depression but yet unlike the ferryman they won’t give up the fight
@Rann0MucyChanno5 ай бұрын
This is the same for me. I can still understand why people are afraid of it, and heck, I feel some fear in it still. But as the video went on. Well, that changed, I feel more sad and sorry for the ferryman, and in many ways I think I relate to what he is going through. And I think a lot of people will definitely relate to that and feel the same way. It is scary, but it’s also sad when you learn the meaning behind it.

La Machine have a very interesting style. Where most Animechanics would try to hide their mechanical pieces to make their props look real, they have ALL of their mechanisms front in center in what looks like a stylistic choice as well as a means of giving the machines extra fluent motion. A full video on these artists would be SO cool.

You know what’s scarier about the Ferrymen’s End at 9:48 the thing it represents “a loss of connection with the outside world coming as a form of depression” that genuinely scares me cus as of now I’ve been really cut off from the world around me and have in fact dealt with depression from it… hearing its story and the fact it’s meaning is something I relate too gives me this primal fear. As though I’d one day turn to stone.

One of my earliest vivid memories as a child was at the Jaws ride in Universal Studios FL. I remember being in the boat and pulling into this fake boat garage (I don’t know what you’d actually call it) where it was dark and an enormous animatronic shark coming up right in front of the boat. Now, this ride seemed a hell of a lot scarier as a child and it’s now closed down, but I don’t think I’d be able to ride it again even if it was still functioning. That ride was the reason I have this phobia!! Eeeek!

I can tell you why those BonBon candy names are so popular. Kids at the time -- and maybe even still today -- laughed at gross stuff. The "cow b*obs" thing, IIRC, was an example of how, in Denmark, they saw breasts not as an object of s*xuality (sorry for all the censorship, I don't trust KZbin) but as what they are: parts of the body. Basically, it was supposed to be bodily humor, like how a lot of family media these days seem to make jokes about butts.

We sculpted and fabricated our own animatronics. I wanted to make a clown head and ended up making a huge bust that I ended up not being able to finish. 🤣 The foam latex skin on the stone mold has just been chilling on my desk for months. Hopefully I can finish it so I can put it in my window and confuse my neighbors. Or toss it in a pool to make my own submechanophobia nightmare. 🤡
