I feel attacked when people call out my alcoholism. We need to promote alcoholic positivity and people should respect me for who I am regardless of my state of sobriety. Alcoholiphobes are hateful and promote violence.

real question, though i know this is sarcastic, why is your sobriety any one else business?
@dreaminginnoother
@dreaminginnoother Жыл бұрын
@@ClockworkAvatar Well, this is sarcastic to prove a point, but I am technically an alcoholic depending on what your source is, so I like this question. Most people actually do not have a problem with it since I am highly functional and high performing and it makes me more social (I tend to be very introverted). It is mostly family who worry about my health and long term outcomes. They have expressed concern for which I agree with and am sensitive to. The point is highlighted to me that I am healthier than obese people (via bloodwork and have a better physique than 95% of the people I see) despite having a "highly unhealthy addiction" which I have never tried to pose as healthy. Meanwhile, we are supposed to support an addiction that is arguably worse (easily in my mind) and are called hateful if we don't.

A fairly common trope in female narratives: she's all alone, minding her own business, and suddenly The Bad Thing happens unprovoked. She's an innocent victim of The Bad Thing, and thus deserves sympathy, support and money. When I worked in a legal office it was an open practice: you're forbidden to ask what she was wearing or doing when The Bad Thing happened... you're forbidden to suggest she owns any contributory negligence to The Bad Thing. In related news, women are now 52% of the US population, and occupy more positions of authority than ever--many of which are set-asides and diversity hires reserved for women so that they can have authority without earning it.

Worked out for 25 years straight, always fit and a healthy weight, and then I took two years off during COVID. Ended up gaining 10kg! I live in East Asia, where people are generally slimmer than North Americans (a healthier diet helps). When I visited my family in Canada, and stated I was a little overweight and needed to work on it for my health, they acted like I was about to jump off a cliff in despair. All I did was state a simple FACT, without being depressed or beating myself up over it. "Oh no! You're still thin! You don't have to lose weight!" Honestly, if I looked "thin" to them, it's only because everyone else around them is even more overweight than I am. lol! BTW- back into my healthier, pre-covid lifestyle of cycling and weight-training (as well as healthier eating), and I'm loving it! I hate seeing people complain about not being able to lose weight, while downing huge amounts of calories every day, and not exercising. You're doing it to yourself!

You're fortunate enough to live in a country where eating healthy is easier to do. In America I see a lot of people go for the cheaper processed foods with chemicals and other junk put into it. But the majority of healthy "organic" things are overpriced. If only we could get rid of the bs we pass off as food and supply better food for a reasonable price I'd imagine the American obesity rate would drastically reduce. Unfortunately a lot of us love our fast food and other junk so I don't see that happening soon. Personally I'm lucky enough to live alone so I'm able to put a lot into eating healthy but it sucks 😂

Not being a parent myself, I’m conscious of not being overtly judgmental but still, I honestly don’t get how any parent can let their child get fat when they literally have total control over what their child eats and doesn’t eat. No, you can’t force kids to eat something they don’t want, but you can sure as hell STOP them from eating, and control what kind of food they have access to. And you can make sure they stay active; how hard is it these days to get your kid into a sports league, or dance class? Or just take them to the park and tell them to run around the field? Kids who are physically active every day cannot get fat.

@@cvgodd1432 Too many modern parents just have no idea how to parent. They think it's all about sparing their children any discomfort, when learning how to deal with temporary discomfort like hunger is a fact of life. They can't stand the idea of their child being even slightly hungry for a single second. If I complained about being hungry and wanted a snack an hour before dinnertime, my mother would say, "So, be hungry; it won't kill you." Parents seem to have lost that ability to stand up to their children's manipulative whining.

You’ve literally changed my life. It was a gradual change. I was deep in my radical feminist, fat positive ideology and would sometimes hate watch your videos… then slowly but surely I slowly started changing the way I thought. Modern feminism and “body positivity” was making the way I felt about myself and the world WORSE. I was attracted to those ideologies because they were telling me that I was perfect no matter what and to never change. Accepting the hard truths and making changes to yourself and your mindset is the only way to truly feel better. I’ve lost 40 pounds and don’t constantly tell myself how much of a “victim” I am. And I have never been happier. I would have said just 6 months ago that I agree with MOST of the things you say, but now I can say that there isn’t really anything I could disagree with you on. You’re doing such good things for society. Thank you. EDIT: Massive thank you to everyone who sent me such positivity in the comments below!

Good on you for having the intellectual honesty to see another point of view and in turn re-evaluate your own thoughts and beliefs. That's an insanely tough thing to do. Never lose that introspection. Self-actualization through achievement is an incredibly powerful motivator. Maslow considered it the top of the hierarchy. He doesn't get nearly the attention that Jung and Freud get but his hierarchy of fulfillment is way more accurate than anything Freud ever came up with. As you make changes and most importantly, see gradual results, it becomes a fulfillment drug that your mind will use to continue to seek out the positive behavioral patterns your establishing for yourself. When people choose to mire themselves in negative behaviors the opposite occurs, they create a self-fulfilling prophecy that defeats them before they can even begin. I'm rambling now, but TL:DR. Great work, keep it up!

My gf had to do a surgery on a 11yr old that weighs around 90kg (most kids that age are a third of that weight), it was supposed to be a fairly quick 20-30min operation. It ended up being a total of 5 hours due to all the complications from the extra weight. She even needed extra hands to get to the actual site of operation (abdominal area). Being overweight isn't just bad for your day to day health, it makes emergencies more complicated to deal with as well.

It is currently 8/5/23 and I weigh 264. It’s great. I can do way more now and this is only 32 lbs lost. Seeing fat turn into muscle is great and I love it. I still eat fatty foods such as ice cream and WingStop but in moderation. It isn’t impossible just hard. Keep going. You got this!

It was encouraging fat people to keep eating boxes of Girl Scout cookies because that’s what makes you happy. Last year I got a umbilical hernia and when I went to the doctor I was 376 lbs. Now I am 280 lbs and still working hard to get my weight down for a hernia repair surgery. What is "a traditional woman"? Sounds like this is superior than "a modern woman". I have a very feminine body, I dress very feminine. But I love video games, I am very competive when it comes to accomplishments, I have my hobbies, I hate household work, I don't want kids and I don't want to marry. Is a traditional woman a woman that looks for a man with good income so she can become a stay at home mom? I don't get why loving my independence is so bad, why not wanting to be a mother and housekeeper is bad. It's just not my cup of tea. Doesn't make me less of a woman. And since I don't have to make me likeable to men I can do whatever I want.

This man was big (not like muscle busted) but was damn strong. But he is the only stereotype I have meet that was in shape. But even he didn’t like other obese Soldiers. Hell, he pick on them the most. After talking to a lot of different backgrounds, I understand why.

Honestly trying something hard in proving to yourself you can do it is one of the biggest morale boosters ever. I kept waiting around for my boyfriend to help me assemble my desk and a shelf. We were kind of on bad terms for various reasons so eventually I went "screw it I'll build them myself" after I assembled the shelf, I then had the confidence to assemble the desk, then after that I assembled another shelf. The first shelf gave me the confidence to assemble the other stuff. Then after that I went and got a CNA license (certified nursing assistant) and next week I have orientation at the hospital. I started going to the gym but I kind of fell off, I need to get back to that. Currently 90% of what I eat I cook at home. Things aren't perfect but they're getting better. A lot of it honestly had to do with that shelf. A lot of it was my own personal mental barriers. I was basically told growing up by my father that I was stupid and couldn't do anything. (Honestly he thinks everybody is dumber than he is) I tried to assemble a shelf whenever I was living with my parents and I failed at it, was going to throw it out, then my sister said she'd take it if I didn't want it, she had my dad assemble it (I was way too proud to ask him to fix it after I failed) He assembled it for her. For years that absolutely solidified in my mind that in fact I was stupid and worthless and I couldn't do anything. So I guess it makes sense that I got quite a bit of confidence after I finally built a shelf myself. Human psychology is such a weird thing.

Its funny because this is exactly the mentality the rest of the world mocks the west for. The refusal to accept accountability - "We know best, so everyone should follow us. Damage is done by not following us properly" The rejection of traditional wisdom - "We know better how things should be and we gonna engineer it like we want" The degeneration of morals - "We indulge in our impulses regardless of the consequences" The degeneration of mental strength - "Everyone that rejects our beliefs is the devil that wants to harm us" The entitlement of deserving everything - "I don't want to change, so you have to change to give me what I want" Those people there impersonate the essence of what the west has become in the eyes of the rest of the world. And they are telling us this over and over again, but well, we are always the victims and victims don't need to listen right? Victims need to be catered to and if they get upset, they can righteously strike back.

I was never morbidly obese, but I've spent most of my life generally fat. A few years back I got off my ass and got in good shape, this channel was a great motivation for me. For years I had sciatica from a "slipped disc" and then about a year ago it was found that the pain is actually due to Chondrosarcoma and an 11cm tumor in my right pelvis. Currently the only "curative" solution is a hemipelvectomy and the loss of my right leg and half my pelvis. I have opted to not do that and am on chemo that my doctors don't actually expect to work, and best case scenario might slow down the tumor growth. Full honesty, I immediately stopped working out and have been putting on weight ever since. Partially because the pain is getting pretty bad, but I always admit to people that it's mostly depression and hopelessness. I'm starting to get myself back into working out and this channel is still a great motivation, just in a new way. I'm not saying this for sympathy, I'm saying it because I think even as a cancer patient with a variety of unusual challenges I don't want to use excuses. I got fat again because I stopped trying not to and gave in to my unhealthy habits. It's okay to mess up and life will give you a thousand reasons to, but at least don't lie to yourself or other people about it.

If you eat to deal with stress, I guess some do that, then one day you look down and you can't even see your feet or you struggle to get up stairs, or wipe your ass? Well, time to make some changes. "I eat because I'm stressed, I have a slow metabolism, I have bad genes." These are what I like to call "Excuses." Excused often are valid, but it's up to the person to overcome their bad hand in life and get on with it. Does anyone use the "STRESS" excuse for, like, alcohol or taking hard drugs? If food becomes a drug for you, and it can be, then make some changes.

@Miguel Silva If it's all a "waste of time" then why do anything? Either do it for yourself (because, end of the day, that's all that matters) and get busy living your best life, or get busy dying. Just suck start that shotgun if everything is as bad as you say it is. I truly feel sorry for you, I do. I'm 56, and I never want to stop living my best life possible. I have two grown, wonderful kids and a loving wife. If you see no point in life, it's because you ain't looking for it. YES, this everything is bad and the world is empty. But every day I wake up is another day to live a damn good life... and if you can't do that, I'm sorry for you, I feel for you. And the things is-- I've been there! I held a gun in my mouth, ready to die. A little voice inside said "not today. If things don't get better, there's always tomorrow." And I listened to that voice. Still listening, even when I struggle and I still do. Suicide, and all Obesity is is "suicide on the installment plan," is just a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
