Hey, I built one of those benches at the BLM campsite! Glad it survived and you got to enjoy it, too. Thanks for the video.

Glad to know about the closed beach given the bird breeding and that restriction until post Sept 15th. RidewithGPS routes saved for the future. Thanks for sharing!

Wed. 10-4-23. I was out running some errands this AM and my journey took me past Mingus Park. Made me think of you and wondered when the next video would appear. Got home, fixed some lunch, and turned on my computer to look at KZbin. And just like that... there you are! Nice one! Looking forward to more.

Hello. I enjoyed your two OCT videos! I've hiked the OCT last year, and was thinking biking it too. 1. It would be great if you did a video on your bikes and your bikepacking gear! 2. In your RidewithGPS page, you said you can't ride on the beach between March to September because of Snowy Plovers. I don't recall any signs anywhere on the OCT that said you can't ride bikes on the beach during those times. There ARE signs and ropes that say to stay on the Beach Access trails and to not go up into the soft sand/stay on the wet sand. Do you have a link I could look at that talks about "no bikes"?

Hey there, thanks for watching! Glad you liked the videos. We do show off our bikes and gear towards the end of the first video. And in the second video, I show one of the signs about the plovers when we hit the beach in Florence. I’m surprised you never came across this info on your hike. Plover beaches have many restrictions that you can read here: www.fs.usda.gov/detail/siuslaw/alerts-notices/?cid=fseprd518707

Still dont understand why horses are allowed during plover season and bicycles are not?!!??? Btw:Peters spicy cranberry marmelade is sooo good!
@BikeCampChill Жыл бұрын
I know! For a public route, we wanted to make sure we followed the state guidelines. Some locals told us we should be fine riding the wet sand, but I've read otherwise during plover season. Luckily, this was still a great sunny window in the season to ride! Maybe things will change in the future, as fat bikes and beach riding become more commonplace. We downed those bottles of cranberry juice so fast!! lol

Yeah your title is all wrong Oregon is nowhere near the Southern tier the Southern tier is from St Augustine Florida to San Diego California nowhere near Oregon if you're going to print stuff or show KZbin videos at least get your titles right
@BikeCampChill8 ай бұрын
Hey Scott, this ride/route is about the "southern tier" of the Oregon Coast Trail (OCT), referring to the southern section. Sorry you found that confusing. The thumbnail and title clearly state the Oregon Coast.
