There’s something about the Clay family: Cassius was the best duelist, his dad was one of the wealthiest slave owners, and his cousin was one of the best lawyers they are just good at whatever they do

Cassius Clay is one of my personal heroes. The man was a fucking tank, an American Spartan and Civil War era John Wick.

To put something in perspective: A "company" is comprised of 100-250 men. The sheriff basically told the judge he needed at least a 100 men to take a single 90 year old man. Cassius put the Giga in GigaChad.

Personally, after seeing this video, I believe that Ali goofed by changing his name from Cassius Clay. It's a perfect name for a fighter, and it's more meaningful given Clay's contributions to the abolitionist movement.

Yeah Ali probably got hit in the head a few too many times. Which in fairness is rare given how slippery he was early on but still lol

Hey, Curtis. Just wanted to recommend something you should watch. It's a Japanese Pro Wrestling organization called DDT Pro Wrestling, and it's the wackiest shit ever. They had an event where a team of wrestlers were scaling a building and they encountered a bunch of wacky enemies. One of the enemies was a Japanese model with 3 simps to fight for her

Curtis you should react to Blue Jay, he filled the void when Sam O Nella took some time off. Very entertaining!

Cassius Clay "bullying" Lincoln into signing the Emancipation Proclamation did happen but implying that's the reason is an oversimplification as to why Lincoln did end up signing it when he did. I mean Lincoln wanted to sign it, he wrote the thing, the biggest issue as to why he didn't sign it was the war in 1862 wasn't go so well for the Union. Lincoln was really unpopular at the time and putting forth that amendment could've been a political disaster. He had to wait until after a major Union victory, so the public's perception of him was higher. Another reason he signed it was to help keep England and France out of allying with the South. As England and France had made slavery in their countries/territories illegal and they didn't want to ally with a "country" that still had the "institution" of slavery intact. England and France were still considering allying with the Confederacy though, even with that declaration from Russia, because a divided US would be weaker, and they needed that cotton from the South.

Yeah, I lost a lot of respect for 'Muhammed Ali' after this video. He said he changed his name from a "slave name" to one that means 'loved by God'. Never mind he was named for a legendary abolitionist and the first Muhammed Ali was an Arab slave trader, meaning he probably captured and sold a lot of Africans. So dumb.

This is a good one! If you've not yet had the pleasure of seeing it, I'd also recommend The Fat Electrician's video on the Raid on Los Baños by the 11th Airborne Division. To say it was memorable is an understatement!

This story is a bit exaggerated but that’s half the fun of telling story. Though not mentioned Clay also married an underage girl, which is not cool.
