Yep. This is what I've always explained to my clients. Aerobic exercise is a quick way to burn some calories off. However, resistance training, while not having an immediate of an effect, over time will make it harder to gain weight from the increased RMR due to an increase in lean muscle mass.

Wrestling has a lot of weight cutting but my senior year I didn't have to cut and I was actually struggling to maintain the weight that I was at because the mass amount of physical activity I was going through at the time. Eating a big a** bag of almonds every day was what saved me.

So many trainers don't know this, yet it is the basic of fat loss, p. 218 in 'Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning' by Haff & Triplett for example. One of the core handbooks I have to have for my postgrad university S&C studies. Do these people not read core books on S&C ?

I was hoping for a more scientifically base report as this topic of this title deserves much more attention. I would recommend reading the performance and body composition studies performed by Dr Stephen Phinney and Dr Jeff Volek. While their work is focused on outcomes of keto-adapted athletes, what is absent in this video is any discussion of hormonal and enzymatic effects of the three macro nutrient groups, though the speaker approaches the topics but turns away from making any attempt, which is unfortunate. As for the reported outcomes, I’m very interested to know more about the exact compliance of the subjects, especially the remote clients. Again, great topic that deserves to be studied thorough scientific method.

This program Might work with your under 50 crowd. What about over 65? A lot of us can’t sustain a grueling 4 sets to failure over all large muscle groups every day or two. Which makes the program worthless for much of the population. Back to the drawing board.
@j.m.b54412 жыл бұрын
My advise from own experience, if you can't do 4 set just start with one set of each exercise when you feel ok doing this wait one more week, then add a set, so on and so forth, Im 54 now and it has worked for me but check with a doctor before you start, goid luck!

You’re absolutely wrong. Lowering carbs DOES NOT IN ANY WAY CAUSE YOU TO LOSE MORE FAT. The fat you gain or lose is 100% dependent on your overall energy expenditure. It does not matter if you eat every single calorie from fats or carbs, it will not make a difference on your body fat.
