While it’s grim to know , I feel as humans we tend to “humanize” and “anthropomorphize” every event. Showing a Baboon eating a baby gazelle isn’t something humans can’t watch . We are as brutal as Nature or if not even more in our history. Nature is not always pretty, but it is fair. The Baboon ate for survival . Let’s not forget baby baboons get eaten by Lions , Leopards, hyenas , large birds of prey, Jackals and what not. nature can be raw and brutal and without that all life would be worse off at best, or cease at worst, as trophic cascades have shown us, and is indeed censored in that regard. what we can forget in these hyperpoignant and stark examples is that nature is also kind and gentle for more so than it is brutal, even when something really raw is the starting point as the result is usually some new form of serene equilibrium. Our existence itself is evidence of the natural world's priorities being more nurturing of our lives than anything else.

I think using terms like "happy moments" and "cruelty" are denaturing the things that take place in wild nature. The modern human has largely evolved in a parallel reality and tends to not make any rational differences between the living beings and their individual lives. We have been formatted to put so much emotion into everything that we not only perceive natural processes but we judge them based on humanistic values and our notion of "good" and "bad". Of course, observing, analyzing and concluding from what we see can only be done from our human perspective when it comes to scientific research and development. But taking in consideration that wild nature is (at least on planet earth) the purest environment where life evolves (purest in the sense of closest to reality) we need to look at nature from an "objective" and "dehumanized" view to not create inner conflicts in ourselves that will cause us to think nature and therefore life is "cruel". Reality only becomes "cruel" or "beautiful" when we perceive it from our individualistic perspective. Looking at it as an overall process that furthers Life (talking about Life with a big L, some call it Love, some call it God, whatever you call it, but without mystifying it) opens up to a whole different mind set. In the end, no matter how life does it, as long it subsists, it is an overall win.

The animal is suffering which means it is cruel. We are part of nature so yes, we can say whether it is cruel or not Humans are animals too. They say we shouldn't meddle with nature saving animals from being eaten by predators when other animals have shown altruistic behavior too such as whales so it is a completely wrong mindset. It's only the psychos who show no empathy due to their condition as such using excuses like "oh it's nature" to justify actually enjoying to see an animal in pain that are the issue.
@ruhmuhaccer8642 жыл бұрын
Why is the human, who evolved from the same 'real' environment not allowed to judge based on his principles? Why is our societal behaviour unnatural or our moral judgment artificial so as to suggest we live in a kind of parellel world? It is in and of its own just another push of evolution. Your thoughts are but the mere result of how your brain perceives things which in turn was shaped by nature. Even your own comment is 'humanised'. How are we supposed to know what is nonhuman if but all we can do is look through humanity's glasses? If another animal had discernment akin to ours would we ask it to 'dedolphinse' or 'deelephantise' its views to make them more veracious? The double standard you are proposing is ridiculous.
@ArtyMars2 жыл бұрын
It is objectively cruel to eat a living prey item alive, while it screams 😂 just because most predatory animals haven’t evolved enough neurotransmitters to recognise what they’re doing is horrifically painful and primitive doesn’t mean it’s not. There’s a reason we’ve made it past the evolutionary boundaries of animals. They exclusively focus on survival of the fittest, there’s no room for growth and wisdom when you lack self awareness of your primitive cruelty, nature is disgusting and unfair and chaotic, it’s beautiful and self sustaining but it is certainly cruel and unkind.

Whether you see these things as "good" or "bad" I think it should be neither in the grand scheme. It's beautiful. This is life, the world would not.....no could not exist without death as said It's the, "circle of life". I beleive it takes a a special outlook and understanding to find the beauty in everything that happens/has happened in nature to make earth what it is today. The beauty I see and you can see as many of us here should know is the delicate ecosystem that NEEDS to stay in balance and the "checks and balances" of the world can come up in many forms. This is just one of them. Without it the world would become a barren wasteland (just look at all the damage humans have done/will do). So maybe that will help some here understand why I find everything that happens within nature beautiful.
