Reminds me of the retrospective of the Sega Dreamcast. Back in 1999 and 2000 from the perspective of a customer Sega was hitting home runs. Then it suddenly and abruptly came to an end in 2001. They were struggling while we were enjoying all those great games, especially the abundance of fighters they had on the Sega Dreamcast. I’m glad I still have mine, but I digress. Yes I know this was originally about the “failure” of KOF 12 and 13 which I also wasn’t aware of, but I used the Dreamcast to illustrate the point that we had fun with these games not knowing the companies plight. I’m just glad my 3 favorite companies Sega, Capcom, and SNK are doing much better now. I love it.

These intros don't exist anymore, haven't you noticed yet? They are the old school style, and that was abandoned by FF and replaced by the cinematic intro style. Secondly, it's very unlikely that SNK makes something like that just for a 2nd outfit... You are too much influenced by the SF6 Terry, and these products are two galaxies apart from each other. SNK barely bothers even making 2nd outfits at all... Imagine expecting special cutscenes or animations that are exclusive to an outfit. What could happen is a story mode cutscene that makes reference to that CvS moment. Just like KOF 15 rival cutscenes show some more special and personal interactions between the chars. But regular special intros, maybe like TK8 and DBFZ, are out of question.

Ken, yes perfect SNK made the logical decision, not only is Ken Terry's main rival in crossovers but Ken's current style works better for the style of the game and although I didn't expect Chun-li but well Mai Chun-li's rival is the other star of Fatal Fury apart from Terry so I understand it.

Ryu's gameplay is bad for SNK fgs. He is carried by his status in the genre and by fanboys but he is not that much. Ken's flashier shoto style and combos work much better for SNK. Even if those Terry x Ken dynamics didn't exist, Ken is a better option in gameplay. Ryu's gameplay doesn't fit FF or KOF well.

This also reveals the base roaster will be 17, so far we've had 11 of those characters shown so far, leaving 6 remaining slots that could be filled by Gato, The Kim Brothers, Hokutomaru, Freeman and Kain (I _think_ Grant might be dead), unless the devs want to bring in more new faces (tbh only 2 new characters would be kind of lame) or focus on reintroducing more of the classic characters such as Andy, Joe or Duck (although that risks this turning this into a 1v1 KOF unless they focus on the more obscure, forgotten fighters like Bob, Alfred or Rick)

Ken and Chun-li are the main rivals of Fatal Fury stars Terry and Mai, and Luke is not at that level and Kim is one of the least used characters.
