i remember being homeless in high school, sleeping in parks and on benches. in the back of city buses. a broken heart in a seemingly broken world. Mum came to me, through friends found by chance. and this friend had an old car he would let me sleep in during the winter. mum was there for me. solace in sound. when i couldnt sleep and walked for hours at night, mum walked with me. this music, this experience, is more than these words can express. i was reminded, im not defined by the life im born into, but instead, what i do with it.

Mom died when I was 9.. Later in life through my imagination and signs from spirit, I got the idea that before my mom went to heaven, her spirit went to live in a cabin next to a lake. A very special lake, a lake she could look through and see me, and help guide me and raise me and set plans into motion that would give me a good life, and then when her work was done and she knew I was safe and would be ok, she finally left and found peace in heaven, where someday I'll meet her again.. This video reminds me of all this... I see the flock of birds as her soul, traveling to the cabin and keeping cute pictures of mine in there to keep her warm, and then the rocket is her going to heaven and the northern lights is her being celebrated in heaven.. I love you Mommy!!! Thank you for caring so much about me, while you were here, and from the other side.. I'll see you again soon💜🌻

I remember being in my senior year at university in 2006, just discovered Sigur Rós and started to get into Icelandic music. One day I discovered Múm and "Finally We Are No One", and I was immediately hooked. I listened to that record every day during my senior year. It takes me back to the apartment that I shared with a guy that left in April, leaving me alone in that place until July when I moved out: the end of the Spring, the beginning of the Summer, in fact living alone for the first time in my life, the open windows, the sun coming in, the gentle breeze, Múm playing, the feeling that (despite finals coming up) the world was perfect right there right now. Today I'm 40 and have the CD of the Icelandic version of this album jealously stored in a plastic sheet. It's my little treasure, a perfect record for me. I still listen to it at times to remind myself of that breeze and that feeling that no matter what's going through your life, the world is still a beautiful place to be enjoyed through its little things. Hope you all have a great day!
Icelandic music all radiates this singular vibe, it's completely unique, strange, almost childlike, nostalgic and packed with emotion. it is gorgeous and almost alien in its unrelenting humanity

Man, Mum is such a lowkey and obscure-feeling band/project to me that I'm surprised whenever I see new music from them, hear that they're playing live, see that they're making videos, just about anything really. I had assumed they stopped at Smilewound but then I found out that they're still active. It's like the opposite of Animal Collective, who I'm never surprised to see new, undiscovered music from, new projects they're working on, or seeing that they're playing live.

This is one of that song you are very happy to found, be use they are golden, so you keep listening to them again and again, and you have a phase of listening, so it writes good to your memory and then you keep comming back, through your whole life, from time to time, when you have that timeless mood when you want to visit that everlasting garden. And everytime you come back to listen to them they hits you harder and harder. Thanks for this artists, they must be from different planet. This reminds me of Jonsi, and Sigur Ross.. ❤

Down from my ceiling Drips great noise. It drips on my head through a hole in the roof. Behind these two hills here There's a pool. And when I'm swimming in through a tunnel I shut my eyes. Inside their cabin I make sounds In through the tubes I send this noise. Behind these two hills here fall asleep. And when I flood in green grass of tunnel... It floods back. Down from my ceiling drips great noise. It drips on my head through a hole in the roof. Behind these two hills here there's a pool. And when I'm swimming in through a tunnel I shut my eyes.
