Fate Lore - The Tale of Charlemagne [Fate/Extella Link]

Charlemagne is apparently praised as a forgiving, virtuous figure, but I personally feel his character is filled with abundant flaws. Extella's use of him and Karl don't really seem to have much to do with the actual stories. What do you think?

I feel like they just wanted to add another saber that has a connection to Rome and/or Nero. That's just I think, I still dont know about him much, (other than this video) even tho maxing his bond to max. I know more about Karl then him.

His biggest flaw was that he was too nice. He split his kingdom between his three sons. All of whom fought over it. He's the reason Germany and France hated each other for a century or two. Also, I too finished my Playthrough of Extella Link, thank you Dai. (BTW I'm mad that they removed Archimedes from the events of Extella. I hope they don't leave him removed from Extella 2 as well).

OtakuDaiKun I think why Extella's use of them don't really reference the actual stories and perhaps even historical fact is that that the two are usually summoned as one combined "Charlemagne" spirit and under the Ruler class. The only reason they're summoned separately is due to a bug in the Moon Cell's system, which is an entirely different issue. So I feel like if they were summoned as they were supposed to be, as one servant combined of historical fact and fictional stories they'd have more of a connection to the,. Then again... I guess you could blame Link's story being written by Apocrytha's writer and how he tried tying literally all the Fate/ series entities into the "narrative" by being mentioned through story or bond conversations or simply talking to them at the fortress.

Weird random fact: Christopher Lee, known for many roles in film, some choices being Dracula in a few films and Count Dooku from the Star Wars series, is actually a distant descendant of Charlemagne. jon erikson Honestly, unless they plan on doing it sooner, I'm quite sure they won't do the Extella and Extella Link servants of Archimedes, and both Charlemagne's until they finish the CCC Foxtail Sakura Faces, aka Violet and Kazuradrop and make a sequel to it. So either we wait 6 years to finally get to those three (probably enough for a third Extella game to be made honestly, aka another original servant or two), or we wait 4 if they decide to drop Violet and Kazuradrop in the same event and then another 2 for the sequel event. Or probably the best case scenario: they drop all of them with a CCC event sequel. Though personally I think it's one of the first two I said, and then when those three come to FGO we get Archimedes, (Saber) Charlemagne, (Ruler) Charlemagne, and if a third Extella game comes out beforehand whoever they add in it. Though of course I'd also be really happy if they decided to add both Hakunos in as well, the male one being an Avenger Class servant, aka HAKUNO from lost encore, then the female one probably being a pseudo-servant, I'd imagine Caster class for that one which would be the one from Extra, CCC, Extella, and Link.

EXTELLA LINK SPOILER just had a thought, Sasaki Kojiro was fictional so the grail grabbed a ghost and used it as a template correct? So since Saber Charlemagne is just the fictional legend, is it possible he's a Gudao face because the MoonCell used Gudao as a template since Ruler was already on SERAPH? Gudao looks like that because his design is supposed to be a male version of Tohsaka, just like Gudako is supposed to be a female version of Shirou. You could argue Charlemagne's design is somewhat inspired by Gudao's though. And there's the fact that there's a very high chance that if you are Europan, you are a descendant of Charlemagne in some way. So yeah.

The thing is that he was too prideful to call for help until he saw his closest friends die at the end of the battle. Him trying to break Durandal indeed scared most of the Saracens in the tale but it happened after using the olifant with the intention of giving the fallen proper burial. His body was already tearing apart from its usage so he wouldn't let anyone use his sword after death.

Actually it's more of like, your tAlking and rAisIng certAin sounds (sounds would almost sound depressed or like you're voice is shutting down). Not trying to be offensive, it's just really hard to explain what I'm trying to get across
