That "ding" from Pluto was a perfect quip after Sebastian's own "I didn't hear no bell". Veo was the MVP with tanking those hits/dodging damage and saving Sebastian's life twice

Loved this episode. Mounty did not hold back. He gave then a few chances here and there, but he mostly went for it, specially when he attacked Sepastien after he died. Great session as always.

Even though that rule of death saving throws not refreshing when they stabilized was a mistake... I think it's actually a good way to stop yoyo healing and put more urgency when someone goes down.

I had a GM run it like that. It works pretty well to increase the tension, as long as your party is generally good enough to avoid death saves lol

1:26:30 Monty had me spooked when he said death saving don't refresh, but that does makes combats even more scary if they didn't reset at short or long rests. That might be a cool idea to use for another campaign!! 😊

I use it sometimes. I generally think it's a good houserule, but I always make sure my players are on board. I usually use either it or my rest variant but not both (my rest variant is that you are limited to 3 rests per day, on an SR you can expend 1/4 of your hd rounded up, and on a long rest you can expend 1/2 your hd rounded up, don't add con to either, you regain expended hd when you go a full day without expending any. I say my rest variant but one of my players actually came up with it)

​@@codemaster2861There are two reasons: RAW: Never in the description of Counterspell does does it say it "targets" anything. It does affect one creature, but it never specifically uses the word target. RAI: Because of the way combat works in D&D, there is never a case where two spells are being cast simultaneously. Even if I counterspell your counterspell to my banishment, there is still an order of operations, and we resolve things in that order. So there will never actually be an instance where two spells are being cast at the exact same time, so there isn't a second target for the counterspell

I just think it's a cool way to add to the abjuration specialization of a sorcerer and since everything does happen "simultaneously" you would see them start to cast a spell not what spell but a spell bc of somatic spell components

@@codemaster2861 the issue is that their counterspell does go off after yours, so there is no target for your twinned counterspell when you cast it. You could preemptively cast any action or bonus action spell, but because of how reactions work (you cannot cast the spell without the triggering reaction) you cannot preemptively do something that is a reaction only. Even held actions occur on a trigger, and if that trigger never goes off, the action is lost For reality sake, we do say everything happens simultaneously, but that's not actually what happens, hence why we have initiative order: all this occurs within 6 seconds, but initiative determines in what order they occur within that time

Followed you for 2-3 years until the adventurers fought a roach-fly and crawled into a painting. Then I got sidetracked and started watching Critical Role. Now I come back and notice that you are focused on cats. As a dog person this is highly disturbing. A Drakkenheim without dogs is like popcorn without salt if butter is meant to be cats.
