Is this your last video of the BushMule v2? I am looking for a more durable nose gear solution for my BM2, doesn't need to be steerable, passive castoring would be fine, if there was something tougher.

Thank you for posting this video. Very clever repair. The model is/was perfect again. This paves the way for my repair attempt. Thanks again !!!!

Bad run of luck with that bird, but like the best of Pilots, you never give up 👍👍!

For grass Ops I'd like to have something like AeroScout wheels on the plane. Anything smaller in size and you want golf course groomed grass.

oops...from the flag blowing, looked like the wind had picked up a bit...landing downwind is difficult at times...hope it's not too bad...have a good one...

I will keep at it until either she is unrepairable or no longer fun.

you should do a collections video
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
Yeah i should. Goodness knows I have enough crashes!

Looks like it needs flaps on landing and keeping some not-zero thrust until touching. Or land at higher speed, which isn't always convnient.
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
True. I hated this plane and have since sold it.
@robertfpv77336 ай бұрын
I find for me if I line up with the runway 20-15 seconds out then bleed the speed I just butter the landing most times like eight out of ten times I’d say but do whatever works for you if the plane is in one piece then that’s great :)
@FatGuyFliesRC6 ай бұрын
I got better but I have long since sold that plane.
@93rc692 жыл бұрын
just ordered one yesterday. thanks for the videos. it really looks like it stalled to the left on that last downwind landing. guessing it needs a bit of speed when landing, and closer to a warbird characteristics than a stol plane maybe? do you know what diameter the stock wheels are?
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
Thanks and i think 3 inch.

@@FatGuyFliesRC Did you ever repair the nose gear? I got mine flying and quickly messed my nose gear up too. Not a fan of that design. Glued mine in place (not steerable). Not sure if that will work or not.
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
@@93rc69 replaced the entire assembly with heavier wire kit from dubros but broke it again and then repaired again. Sold the plane. Bad design. Solid gear in nose will work but no direction now. Bad design from Avios.

Have you ever tried to modify wings to have flaps that originally didn't include them?
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
No Sorry I have not. Well not real flaps. I added flaps in a permenant down position once years ago and lost control and sight of the plane. Never recovered her.
@goldendredger2 жыл бұрын
It's not destroyed and will fly again. I think you have to fly into the landing with some speed. She does not come in light on her feet like the Tundra does. I think it looks similar to Tundra and that's how you are flying it. But this one is heavier for sure and cannot float in for that light landing. Weigh both the Tundra and this Bush. I bet this plane had close to a pound heavier with no more wing than Tundra to carry it. So you are dropping in much faster and heavier. You are very use to the Tundra and not this plane. Fly you landings in with more speed and keep it flying. More like a warbirds landing. Then get those nailed and start slowing them down with flaps till you find its happy spot.

Yeah its all about finding what works best with the planes gear and weight.

you said during this video that " when there is no wind, you definitely want to use flaps" ...it looked to me like you didn't use any flaps when you landed and crashed .... ......did you forget to drop them?
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
No the wind kicked up after me saying that. Had I used them the stall would would have been worse.
@FlankerTanker2 жыл бұрын
MIght and it is only a suggestion , Might be OK to hand launch and remove all the gear .....
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
Thought about that but with no prop availability soon i will change out to a more lower studier gear.
@looneytunes47 Жыл бұрын
That is a heavy plane and you must maintain throttle speed to avoid hard stalls i run a big 4500 4s battery and on landings i maintain at least 35 percent throttle speed
@FatGuyFliesRC Жыл бұрын
Weight and speed go hand in hand. Weight and stall also go hand in hand....lol

There's a higher risk for a crash when you do so many touch & goes
@FatGuyFliesRC2 жыл бұрын
True but landing and take off are the best skill to practice. Once I developed a better feel for this bird i will have better landings. provided she survives long enough...LOL
@aragorn3182 жыл бұрын
@@FatGuyFliesRC It's perhaps more fun to watch since there's more risk. But I never do touch & goes and my landings are without incident.
