As a parent I have some experience of this. A few years ago when my daughter lived with me, she quit her job, because she was treated really badly there. Financially this impacted our family. We talked about things, and what her plans might be. She said she wanted to become a full time KZbinr. Although having an income is important, I also understand how important creativity is. So I supported her decision. So instead of contributing financially, she took on extra chores around the home. My wife was disabled, and the extra help was something that I was very grateful for. Anyway, my daughter did her channel for a couple of years or so, and although she built up a bit of a following, it never really took off. Although she went on to make a little bit of money on Twitch. But I am glad that I encouraged her follow her dream. When we can’t follow our dreams, we will often end up regretting it. It doesn’t actually even matter if we succeed in our dreams or not. When we look back, it is much more important that we tried. I have followed several of my dreams, and some have gone better than others. But in every case, I’m glad that I tried.

I disagree. The dad is right in the beginning cause that's what my dad would do and I think he's right. Sure you would make a whole lot more money by becoming a successful youtuber but the odds of that happening are usually not high. I'm glad my dad would do this because it teaches us the value of real work to become real strong men. So why would u take a chance at something that u might not be successful at and get no money when you can get a real job and know ur going to be getting paid. I agree with the dad in the beginning. Obviously he wouldn't have said the same words he used but still he would do something like that.

The farther isn't wrong,The son shouldn't of been doing youtube in a critical time while his parents were struggling bills to pay,Even if this is abusive because the father hit the son,Not all hitting is bad,Like if a child acts like a brat to their parents,The parents can both hit the child like a slap.Even if you dont think the son is being abusive,Why is he doing youtube while his family is struggling in financial needs,You dont get like 300 hundred cash from youtube every day,It can take a long time on KZbin to be successful,It aint that easy. And also what luis is trying to say here is to not crush your child's dreams but this isn't anything about crushing your kid's dreams,This is something about not doing youtube in a critical time,Anyways he could of just worked in a part time job and sometimes you can earn a hundred dollars in that and he could of paid it for his family's rent.

This is just making excuses for domestic abuse. I came from a culture (Chinese) where by default parents are allowed to abuse their kids and get away with it because socially it’s assumed that whatever abuse that is there was well meaning and the kid will be considered ungrateful if they speak out about it. That dad was really toxic towards his son by beating him with his belt, a sorry shouldn’t cover it, he should be in jail

Trust this, Ive made 2k subscribers just after around 3 months of uploads which was pretty fast growth.. Anyway if you are a teenager being pregnant you are very irresponsible, times havent "changed" anyone you see online is just very lucky. Well you shouldn't be doing KZbin why your parents are struggling in bills,The farther told the son to stop doing youtube because if he doesn't they will get evicted,But he totally ignored him and kept doing KZbin,This has nothing to do with crushing your child's dreams,This has something to do with not doing youtube in a critical time while your parents are struggling in bills,You cannot gain that many cash in youtube,It takes years to be sucessfull so it is basically impossible for this to happen in real life,Regardless if the farther hit the son, he didnt get any bruises,And he looks like he is old enough to listen to his dad and get a job.
