Its so true it takes a real man to be a father. David is fortunate to have been raised by the man who loves him and raised him as his own. Alot of step dads don't think of the kids as their own and the one's who do are real men.

My biological dad passed away when I was 7 years old and I've had 2 very horrible, unloving and abusive step fathers. I'm 41 years old now and my mum has been married to her 4th husband for 12 years now and he's the best step father I've had. In fact, to me he's just my dad. He's never had any kids of his own and he said I'm his daughter, not his step daughter.

Exactly. His mom and adopted dad shouldn't have waited until he was an adult, they should've told him when he was younger then he would've understand. I understand that they're trying to protect him from the truth that his biological father was an evil person but parents should always be honest with their kids, even if it's hard

I guessed David now appreciate his step dad and mom cause he never believed his mom statement now he found out for himself. Imagined if he was told during his teenage years, how that would have distracted him of his studies and kids would have been teasing him. David just realized that his mom was protecting him so he could study without distraction.

i can't wait for the chill dude to just say "i don't care who my father is. I'm your kid. I just wanna be with you." I really like these. it shows yeah you might have a different father, but your "parents" are your real mom and dad. despite blood or lack thereof. You'll always have parents in your current parents, but it's okay to at least see your real parents. Just don't go there hoping for hugs and kisses. If they aren't in the picture they are probably homeless, drunk, drugged up or broke.

I know that because my dad is like, my stepdad? Idk, i always knew despite my biological dad divorces my mom. But i love my dad, and he’s the best dad i have.
