Father gorilla who wants to play with his son vs. son who doesn't want to play

Shabani tried everything to get Kiyomasa to play with her.
But she couldn't get him to play with her until right before lunch 😢
Even the energetic Kiyomasa sometimes wants to be alone 😅

I always wonder how different Shabani is than other gorillas. It feels like most silverbacks DO care for their group members, but Shabani comes off like he cares a ton. I mean he grooms Kiyo regularly. That's just seemingly rare among silverbacks. Haoko doesn't do that and seems to kinda ignore his kids. Oumbi wouldn't be caught dead doing that. Shabani is just capable of love to a higher degree than most Silverbacks. So that makes me wonder what fraction of Silverbacks has the disposition Shabani has for love. Well, then Shabani will suddenly push Ai or Nene and you second guess your observation. Lol.

I see the similarities with the brothers. Haoko and Shabani and Bauwi (RIP) are great Silverbacks. Haoko has his ride or die Toto and Bauwi of course had all his wives. But Shabani seems to be the most sensitive. He wears his heart on his fur sleeves. The way he looks at Ai just makes me melt. I feel gorillas in general are like this. They are empathetic creatures who care about each other, but at times they seem to delight in annoying each other. "Well if you won't play with me, I'll just play with you anyway!" Tho I must admit male gorillas are more like this. But even Annie can be like this, especially to nene.

i am very happy to see the recent issues from the past few months hasn't ruined their relationship where the gorilla, as they approach silverback-dom, seem to become more and more isolated from the group due to instincts to be more dominant. Then they start asserting more dominance which just ruins their relationship with the group. I've noticed that gorillas that play a lot seem to be able to overcome that need for dominance. Maybe they value the play so much that when they feel the need to assert dominance they are able to better ignore those feelings.Like the relationship of Frank vs Winston VERSES Frank and Monroe. The way Frank treated Winstom is night and day compared to how much of a bond Frank and Monroe have. It's almost like Frank has an entirely different personality when around Winston or Monroe. And you know if Gentaro and Kintaro ever become bachelors that live together, that they will always have a good relationship. The play seems to be able to fight off relationship deterioration.

It’s great that Frank and Monroe grew up together also. But poor Monroe did suffer leaving his troop. He’s a big beautiful guy now and Frank will always hold a place in my heart. He’s another gorilla model like Shabani! Every angle is good!😄
