The coach did not make a mistake, they did what any tourist or person exploring a cave would do. People knew they were going to the cave, it was not a secret. The coach is someone to be idolized, he takes the time to be a role model and friend for these kids and bring them on excursions, and biking. You can't be scared of everything that "could" happen. Not many people could keep 12 kids alive in a situation like this, no food, no clean water and pitch black. The kids were calm, cool and collected when found. I commend the coach for his protection in the cave and even for bringing them to the cave to have fun. Every story does not need a bad guy and blame all the time.

Bunch of idiots. they ignored all warnings which was even outside the cave and their parents and other friends warns them and went inside the cave to celebrate birthday. The Tham Luang Nang Non caves are known locally as off-limits, a dangerous place where parents warn their children not to go into, especially during monsoon season.
@iprobablywontseeyourreply.71934 жыл бұрын
And they also went into the cave before the rainy season. The year before the rains started weeks later than it did that year. And Coach Eck was an orphan with a very hard life, his entire immediate family was killed when he was little which led him into monk hood. He loves those kids like his own, and he gave up all of his food rations for them. It’s not his fault some of them didn’t tell their parents, but some did and they obviously were ok with it. Under normal conditions, it’s not a particularly difficult cave to navigate. And when they got a chance to write notes to their families, Coach Eck wrote to the boys families apologizing a lot and promising to take care of them like they were his own. The parents wrote back thanking him profusely for taking care of their boys and didn’t want him to feel bad at all. Other cultures don’t need to find a scapegoat to blame like we often do in the west and they’re better for it,
@iprobablywontseeyourreply.71934 жыл бұрын
Arpit Jain yeah that’s just not true. They’ve said it, the rescuers have said they just got really unlucky, and locals have said it. It’s a busy tourist spot lol it’s not “off limits”, it even has steps built into the opening along with railings. The sign only warns about going in during the rainy season...and it wasn’t starting for another week or two. Ppl go into that cave all the time. Like I said, some of the kids had told their parents and the parents approved bc it’s not “off limits”. Maybe you’re thinking of the Nam Nong cave in Thailand.

Molly Pico The parent don't seem to have any animosity towards the coach. I think it was well known that many of the local kids liked to hike in the caves with their friends. It wasn't out of the ordinary. The issue is that we are putting our Western sensibilities into Thailand. To Thais, a hike in the caves was no big deal.

The coach is literally the reason these kids survived without him they would not have lasted 9 days. I get why people are asking why were they there in the first place I asked them to think about the situation. they have gone to the cape many times there was warning signs not to go into the cave after raining season started and it was before raining season. They were worn by a sign not a person. Many prayers were answered but one hero lost his life my prayers go to his family.

Mother nature's strikes in a blink of an eyes 👀 It happens on the colleges students who did adventures on a place known in a small village. It was their field trip and need to cross vice versa into the river (typical mountain rivers) and it sudden raining, much raining until time for the students back to the base but need to cross back into river then then in the middle of the river the water flows and debris as quick as airs, all of them stuck in the big rock in the middle of the rivers and couldn't make it to the other side of the river until they all vanish from the water. Few left around 2.

fatwalletboy2 The coach did try to swim out but failed because the tide was so strong. He had no choice but to bring the kids to higher ground. They had been into this cave a few times before. By the way western media was inaccurate in reporting that they went in there for a birthday ritual. Actually the boy who had his birthday didn't go to the cave with them he waited for them to come join the birthday party to be held at his house in the evening. The coach (actually assistant coach) and 12 boys rode their bikes to the cave late in the afternoon after practicing football. So, they definitely did not plan to stay inside the cave for too long because they had to come back to join the birthday party. As per latest news they planned to stay there for about one hour but unfortunately they were trapped inside. The parrents called the head coach about the disappearance of their kids (because no one came to the birthday party) and that was how the search started. With all the tough and dynamic conditions that the rescue team faced and all the confusion it was unavoidable that wrong info emerged. Actually, the ground that they were sitting when the British divers first found them is not exactly where they took refuge. The refuge was a little higher and about 20-25 square meter area. When the water level got high they couldn't sit there. On the 2nd of July when they were found the water level had dropped and when they saw the light in the water they ran down to where they sat in that clip. So my best guess is that the coach knew (from past experience in this cave) that this high ground spot was their only hope and that's why they had to go so deep and wait for help. In the begining the coach and the boys tried to build a small dam with bare hands (they had a small knife may be) but that didn't work either. Some source says that as they moved deeper they arrived at a point where it looked like dead end and the coach had to do some survey until he found the location of the opening that was blocked by some stones and sand. He and the boys had to clear that out. I would guess again that was the smallest passage shown in the cross section graphic we saw in the news. So guess what if the coach was not in the cave with the boys!
@deetravelgirl6 жыл бұрын
That's what I'm saying. People blaming the assistant coach and demanding for him to be accountable for what happened only shows that they are just a bunch of people who know nothing but just to sit in front of their computers. The coach didn't mean no harm to these kids. He shouldn't be called stupid for not knowing the danger he placed the kids into. He knows the cave and probably been there during monsoon season. He is local and visiting cave is just normal to them. It was a just an unfortunate event with the heavy rain. Just the fact that he was able to make the 12 boys to stay calm for that 10days is just awesome. I mean i cant even control my 2 sisters let alone 12 scared young boys in a pitched black and cold cave w/o food is just unbelievable

Ok so they went in but when you look at the x section drawing of that cave system I fail to understand why they were led beyond the first main up down stricture in the cave. So it starts flooding but why not head out while you are on the level.....its not going to instantly flood so it seems illogical to have gone deeper in and squeezed through into new chambers. Glad they got out but I do want to hear the full facts from the coach unless I have misunderstood the layout inside the cave system.......unless they crazily just went as far as they could then realised the exit had already flooded completely.........

@deetravelgirl6 жыл бұрын
from their position maybe we're talking a mile far from the entrance? with a strong current and fast-rising water. I think the coach knew that none of the boys know of to swim. it may not be that high yet but panic from the surge of water when you don't know how to swim can be dangerous. As the video says seems like the fast rising water forced them to go deeper into the cave in the hopes of finding a higher ground.
