Lester my Mom passed when I was 4 after being sick for a year. My Dad was everything to me. We were dairy farmers so my Dad was home with me before I started going to school. I'd ride on thee fender of the tractor with him while he got farm work done. I learned so much from him over our life time together. You do a great job in the kitchen. Enjoy your smokies! The Hill Dad's are so lucky you remember them each year on Father's Day. I hope yours was great.

I have done the same thing, but added a slice of cheese (cheddar or cream cheese) and a thin long slice of jalapeño inside with the 2 smokies. I am a farm girl, no sensitive tummy here. If you don't like the jalapeño then leave them out and sprinkle the top of the bacon with a little brown sugar is awesome too.

My mother divorced my father when I was 5. He was a violent alcoholic and I was a late in life baby. My father was 50 when I was born and my mother turned 40 two months after I was born. I am also the sixth child. I do appreciate my father Jesus and God.

What a wonderful idea for all the Dad’s at Plum Grove! I’m sure they are delicious and will be enjoyed by all. If you want a crispier bacon, you can always try to precook the bacon some and after they are maybe half-ish done, wrap them on the smokies, or any other cut of meat you are cooking, the bacon will finish cooking during the oven time.A toothpick will help hold the precooked bacon to the meat, as it can sometimes be harder to want to roll. Yours looked delicious though Lester and a nice cooked treat, that you put your time and effort in, is always a welcomed gift! Enjoy your time with your boys at your Father’s Day dinner! ♥️

The double pan is a good idea. I use a a foil lined pan with a rack on top. Your way you can just throw everything away, no washing.

We make that recipe here in Illinois, but before baking them, we call the Smokies that are wrapped in bacon with brown sugar. Then we bake them. It adds a nice glaze to them. It’s called bacon crack Because they’re addicting.

Lester, The a standard American diet filled with sugar, seed oils, and loaded with carbohydrates is unhealthy. Bacon grease, butter, and fat from meats are healthy fats. We have been lied to regarding what is healthy. The Carnivore way of eating (zero carb version of the Ketogenic way of eating) is healthy. In the last 4 months, I have been eating basically beef, butter, bacon and eggs cooked in butter or bacon grease and I have lost 45 pounds without feeling hungry all the time since I am no longer addicted to sugar. I have avoided all processed foods, seed oils, sugar, grains and other carbohydrates. More important than the weight loss is I am becoming more metabolically healthy every day. Your bacon wrapped smokies look yummy and I will be trying them.
