This is totally non-related to the video but I would love to see a whole video about Pricilla. I remember in a past video she mentioned how she grew up in Cuba! That’s so stinking cool. She’s just so sweet and kind in every sense of the word that I just could watch a whole video or even a KZbin tag with her! 😊💓

Trusting someone to care for your child who can talk and verbalize is terrifying! I can't imagine that fear, and that horror of finding out that that person was harming them physically, emotionally or neglectful. Again I have to say just how absolutely amazing your son is and how mature, funny yet I can't see him Ever backing down from protecting her from harm. I loved the way you did the snap chat question how you are able see their eyes and hear the inflection. It's so amazing how you adapted all of you. From being judgement all at first thinking you were to military (the potty training video) but unlike so many I looked further to understand before judging further and I so am glad. 💜🐢

Hi. I am so grateful for finding this channel when I did! I am an elementary school aide and I work with moderate/severe autistic children. I've been an aide for three years now and this by far, has been the most stressful school year yet... AND IT'S ONLY SEPTEMBER! Anyway, I'm so glad I found this channel because I've been taking notes and been doing everything I can at work. And although it's still difficult and stressful, we have made progress with several our students and it's all thanks to your videos! Most of our students live in poverty and resources are limited. So often times when we have families who stress about living with their autistic child(ren), we refer them to your videos and show them that it's definitely possible. Even though there is a language barrier, we have had mothers come to us and tell us that your videos give them hope. You guys are amazing and from the bottom of my heart, thank you :) PS. Please tell Priscilla she's a wonderful gem & the world needs more people like her.

Since I've started watching your vlogs I've been considering changing my major. I've always wanted to work with kids with autism, but your videos have helped me understand what is really needed in this world. Shamefully, I was a bit worried at the idea of working with non-high functioning kids since I've never been around them and have no media exposure. Abbie had completely changed my viewpoint, now I can't wait to find a way to help children like her live their happiest, healthiest lives.

I love the answer about your marriage and keeping it strong. We have 2 children of 5 with special needs and my husband and I say that we are on the same team. We aren't opponents. It's us against the things that try to bring us down or tear us apart. If we keep our marriage strong, we can be better parents to our children because like you said, we are a team and our focus isn't divided like it could be if we lived in separate homes, etc.... I'm so glad that you weren't affected more by Irma. We are in Polk Co and the eye went right over us on the way to Lakeland. This was our first hurricane so we had no idea what to really expect!

Thank you to you and your beautiful family for bringing awareness to autism and more specifically the 'type' of autism Abbey has. I live in Australia and have no experience with autism personally. But TODAY while I was at lunch at McDonalds, in the playground was a lovely young boy with non verbal autism. He was so much like Abbey! He was coming up to me and looking at me and playing with my glasses. He had stims like the ones Abbey does. He liked to chew on his shirt. His innocence made me feel so happy. His mother came over with a worried look on her face and apologized about his behaviour and I told her not to worry and have a bit of a rest while he was interested in me and my glasses. I told her about your channel and Abbey and we had a lovely chat until it was time for me to leave. Thank you. Its because of you guys and your bringing awareness that i felt comfortable in the situation and I scored 2 new friends out of it! #MaassSquadforlyfe

My only experience with a person who has autism was when I worked at a music store. I was there for 8 years and knew all the regulars. My favorite was a man who came in to look at albums regularly. My coworkers always talked about how he was weird and never talked. I had a totally different experience! He learned my name and would talk to me about his favorite band Metallica. I realized that I had been chosen by him and it made me feel so special! One morning before the store opened he saw me and came running over. I chatted with him about a Metallica song and asked him to come back later when I was open. Then he very quickly held out his hand and said "I love ice cream and I hope you do too. Thanks for being my friend." He handed me an ice cream gift card aand walked away. It was the most genuine, sincere gift I ever got! I cried and called my husband. I moved away 6 years ago and my friends say he still asks about me ♡ I kept the gift card to remember him. I love your videos!

Love your answers at the end. My mom often asks if our son is talking. He is non verbal but communicates like a champ. He just isn't about to hold a conversation and that isn't the point of his speech therapy at this point. It is so hard to explain to others sometimes.

From where I sit, you two are a team so I can't choose one of you over the other. PS: thank you so much for the footage of you all helping that boys' home and sharing the Snapchats of all those who show an interest in becoming therapists. I have been enjoying your videos. When my son was born 40 years ago I don't ever recall hearing the word 'autism'. He and I had a conversation a few days ago about the spectrum. As a child he never cared for affection, making eye contact, shaking hands...even to this day he does not like those things. He also had little empathy for others. He tested into a really good High School but he was socially awkward, and remains so. He has is gainfully employed as a IT manager for a major hospital system. However, his childhood issues have continued into adulthood. I wish I would have had the information then, that is now available. Keep up the good work!

@5:51 exactly! I think that is why I like these videos (and other autism videos) this behavior is an extreme version of how I feel on the inside..or behind close doors how I actually act. I tell my bf I might have mild autism.. not for attention but just so he can be understanding... he gets mad when I have mood swings but it feels like a disability I can't control. I have tantrums like a child and hit my temples, recovering from an episodes can take many days. Part of me feels like I can control it but another part thinks: I want to get this out of my systems and it make me feel relief so why not?

I love your videos. I'll be honest when I was young around 6 years old. I met a cousin of mine with autism, he was non verbal and in his 20 years. I remember my dad telling me and my sister to stay out of his room, and not to be alone in any room with him. Since then I was always uncomfortable around anyone who is autistic. After watching your videos and getting to know your family and learning more I'm not uncomfortable around anyone with Autism. Disclaimer my dad was just worried for my safety because he didn't know his own strength also didn't want to risk us being touched inappropriately on accident.
