Definitely looking forward to this, I saw the preview scene at the end of Episode I in theaters and my mind was blown away, I really cannot wait to see this tonight and thanks for the review!

Very intriguing review! A couple questions: what have been your favorite Disney-era soundtracks so far? And is there any type of opening crawl or something to introduce more casual fans to the concept of the High Republic and its place in the timeline?

I liked the score for the first season of The Mandalorian because it was so different from anything we had heard before. Some other series mixed various styles, but nothing memorable. This Acolyte Soundtrack is on par with the movies though. There is a variation on the opening crawl to introduce the story, but the setting of the High Republic is mostly the backdrop for a solid story that would work in any period; you don't need to have any prior knowledge of the High Republic.

love your balanced take on this show. the music and sets feel like star wars, although I am suspending judgement until the finale. Finales make or break a show for me. For me the most important things are character arcs, dialogue and the message of the show.

So excited to hear your opinion of the score! I’m so eager to hear it and have been hoping it would have that John Williams sound!

It is a stunning score. Feels as if John Williams is back.

Sounds good, what was the run time of the episodes please?.
@FatherRoderick6 ай бұрын
Around 40 minutes each. Felt like a good length, since both episodes had quite a bit of action and a variety of locations.

Thanks fir for that, look forward to watching it.

I am actually looking forward to this after seeing some of the reactions. I love Old Republic stuff and this will finally bring that vision to the screen.

I saw one of the scenes previewed in the cinema when I went to watch the 25th anniversary re-release of The Phantom Menace last month and the first thing I thought was the score was SO John Williams and I couldn’t be happier about that. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the soundtrack!

It's the best soundtrack since the prequels if you ask me.

@@FatherRoderick that is great to hear! I am so excited! I would not have become a musician if it wasn’t for John Williams’ original trilogy score!

While it's hard to judge a whole show on only the first two episodes, your review really makes me hopeful!!! There were some things that the creator of the show said beforehand that made me a bit worried, but the sheer premise of the story being set during the High Republic is too intriguing to be ignored!

I hope you're going to enjoy the series just as much as I did!

The first episodes are great. The haters don't know what they talk about when they trash them around. Master Sol is already one of my favorite characters!
@FatherRoderick6 ай бұрын
I'm also a fan of the way in which Master Sol is portrayed. I hope his character will be around at the end of the season for future stories!

@@FatherRoderick that's damn right, although I suspect he'll sacrifice himself while trying to turn Mae to the light side, in atonement for having failed to save her as a child. The use of an Asian actor for the character is great. Given the Samurai and Buddhist heritage of Star Wars, it's long overdue.
