Just one person's opinion. The setup and Chamber design are Just older classic Joe Davidson design from The Oklahoma Joes Smoker company. The fact you put your time into it and With the Your Father to me makes it Just over the top. Great Build and Time well spent with your Dad.

Awesome build. Like the "trim" to create a seal around the firebox door, but don't think it's necessary with the door being open for air flow. I did have a few suggestions: - I would ditch the heat deflector plate as that will disrupt the arc of smoke. - I would also add a thermometer to the cooking chamber, especially at grate level. - What about an expanded metal wall around the storage shelf? Then the wood splits wouldn't fall down. Overall, great job guys. Super cool to see a well thought out, heavy duty smoker.

This is a beautiful build but at 3k my opinion that a bit to much...workhorse 1975, Gator pits and Lone Star Grillz all have pits for less. Also speak from experience I would wear welding respirator mask when you removing all that rust from the pipes...that's not good for your lungs and overall health. New subscriber keep up the great work!

I think what you guys are doing is great and I wish my dad was still around to do projects with but I think $3k is steep for this. My basis for that is that somebody could get a Workhorse Pits 1975 for a little less than 3k with a pull out shelf. Not trashing this at all and if you sell it for $3k then I'm happy for you. Personally, I probably wouldn't pay it.

Even at 20" it seems small. Ever think of cutting it length wise so not only to take the spring tension out of it so the door will fit better but then to add like a 4" section of plate to make it 24" around!?!?

Beautiful craftsmanship. Couple of questions and a suggestion. I didn't see you cut the entry into the smoke stack pipe. Did that happen? The deflector plate at the firebox is going to create a hotspot right in the middle of your grate at the bottom. And have you seen the steam injection video from Smoke Trails BBQ? That one is a game changer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZyqlWSnmdCLsNk
