I have to admit that after the event I had to sneak a look at the official results as I could not wait for your video to come out. While I am sure that I was not as emotional as you were when you were coming down the finishing straight, I did find myself filled with the happiest emotions for you when I saw your name on the official finishers list...truly incredible! You deserve all of the success, accolades rewards that come from your many, many hours of hard work. The humble nature with which you have always presented yourself and the fact that you repeatedly mentioned and thanked those that supported your journey demonstrate that you are a person of the highest personal character. I am just now planing out my 2024 season (road cyclist in the central part of the US), having watched your journey, you have reinforced my belief that the only impossible barriers we encounter in life are those that we build ourselves. Thank you for making the very brave choice to share this journey with everyone. We are all better for your efforts and I will certainly be here when you hopefully will share your future efforts.

Ross I just stumbled upon your video for IM Wales as I'm recceing it for this September. Your journey is near parallel to my own. Thank you for this video as it took me through a range of emotions I needed to feel to mentally prepare for this IM, which will be my first full one. You absolutely smashed it. Can't wait to see what you do in the future. Well done buddy.

Well done Ross, amazing effort. We are very similar athletes and we finished very close to each other, this was my first IM and First triathlon and I am also a heavy guy, when I started training i was 18st and somehow managed to get to 15st 7 on the day. My times were Swim 1hr 29m Bike 8hr 2m Run 6hr 11 Finish time 16hr 19m So very similar times, to be honest I’m still buzzing over a month later. I agree the support in Tenby is unbelievable but the support of family means so much more and waiting to see mine on each lap was what kept me going. Again a massive well done to you and good luck with training for the next one, I’m coming back to Wales in 2025 to try and better my time. IM Weymouth 70.3 next year for me and as you said I also owe my wife a good holiday next year 😂.

Stumbled across your video. Great insight into IM Wales and Kudos for completing it and becoming an Ironman. I’m booked for 2024. What aero bars did you use and what type of spacers (where did you buy from)? I have a giant and your set up looked great on the bike.
@Fatman2Ironman Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, thank you and good luck for your IMW journey! 👌 The bars are all Giant make and they are the aero clamps which for 2018+ models are all sold out up and down the uk. I was very luck and found a local bike shop when i bought the bike in Nov 2022. The pre 2018 models have different tri bar clamps.
