I had the privilege of meeting Tony twice while i was working for Nitro and Kung Fu Records back in the Early Aughts while doing roadie gigs, mostly tour support and merch sales TSOL, Guttermouth, the Vandals and a few others. The popular saying is Don't meet your heroes, and while there is some validity to that, Tony broke that mold. He was truly about the sweetest guy in punk rock, and in all the years since I think i have only met two nicer, Joey Escalante from the Vandals and Jesse Sendejas from Escape from the Zoo/Days n Daze. I don'toften cry when I get the news that a singer, musician or celebrity has passed away. I honestly can only remember it happeneing twice: Once when Robin Williams died, and when Tony Sly died. The big difference? I still get tears in my eyes often when a NUFAN songs starts that I did not purposely select. I hope his widow and little gitl are doing well, my condolences to them. Rest In Peace Tony, this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you....

12 years ago I seen these guys with strung out in a small tiny pub in Mackay QLD. I met Tony Sly and had great conversation with the other boys from both bands. Was a great time. The drummer from no use but was so stoned i was surprised he could even play. The songs were dialed down a tempo or 2 cause he was so cooked. Punk rock!
