Hi a German here. Just some contexts for the songs. Aschenbrödel and Aschenputtel(Cinderella) are not the same stories. Aschenbrödel was made by another German Author and not the Brothers Grimm. In Germany, it is also called 'Three Hazelnuts for Aschenbrödel'. Aschenputtel(Cinderella) is more of a French fairytale. The Walpurgisnacht is a day in the year when it is said that witches hold a celebration on the Blocksberg, it is also called 'Tanz in den Mai'/ 'Dance into May'. On that day people make a giant pyre with wooden witches in it (we never had those witch statues where I live though), to ward off evil spirits. While the pyre burns, around it is just a normal celebration with music, drinks and food. Hope I could give you a little inside. Love your reaction.

Ja genau wie Schneewittchen, im original sind nicht die Haare gemeint mit schwarz wie Ebenholz, sondern die augen. In der original Fassung hat sie blonde Haare! Und im original ist die Mutter die böse, und wurde etwas später in Stiefmutter umbenannt!

Walpurgisnacht is still one of the big holidays here in Sweden. Here it’s called Valborg. It’s actually an old pagan tradition, centered around celebrating the coming of spring. We light a huge bonfire, with the whole local community gathering around it. The celebration existed long before Christianity reached Northern Europe, but it was somewhat hijacked and rebranded as “Christian” throughout history. A similar local tradition is Midsummer. It’s the most popular celebration in Sweden, more celebrated than Christmas. What’s interesting is that unlike pretty much all other pagan traditions, Midsummer has never been hijacked and morphed into “a Christian celebration”. Most other traditions has been, but the Midsummer tradition remains intact, never hijacked by Christianity.

It feels strange sometimes how different the comment section is, depending on what music I react to. Not that it's bad, just funny...since I started with hip hop.

Mark, I am also a metal fan. I listen to a lot of symphonic, prog, melodic and theatrical bands. I love folk music and always thought other metal fans would enjoy Faun, as they incorporate some elements of metal into their songs like solos.

Yes, it's true. I do it for the newer videos. In the past, I though this would disrupt the experience too much, but now it's a necessity.

The crap that Disney produces has absolutely nothing to do with " Aschenbrödel " anymore. As with so many of these Disney films, they've changed so much that it's horrible to watch. And then our children look at such garbage instead of being taught the original stories. Watch the Movie "Drei Nüsse für Aschenbrödel", that's a good made.
