I'm in love with the mossbacks and burrowballs
@SebastienGendron-uk4po2 ай бұрын
What I love about the mossbacks is that you didn't compare them to our world's hermit crabs (the narration gives the impression that it's told through a wanderer's point of view) which makes sense because these wanderers were not transported to this world, they were born into it without knowledge on how it works and no parents to guide them. I hope you make an illustrated book of all these videos; this is special and needs time to grow. The Eternal Ruins reminds me of an anime called ''Made in Abyss'' or a better comparison a book called ''Tales from the Infinite Staircase''

You mind if i make my own idea for a creature? _Baking Lizard_ *"A species of lizard, bright yellow in natural colour - though you'll rarely be able to see their true scales.* *They live on the outskirts of muddy swamps, mires, ponds, any place with clay and mud. They briefly dig in and out of this terrain, evenly coating themselves, before basking in sunlight. Though their scales are not directly interacting with sunlight, they rapidly heat, baking the clay into hard terracotta as a sort of shell.* *Sometimes, though im not sure why, their "shells" seem to have markings, similar to those of the walls and floors of this place.* *Very spicy taste, and cook very quick. Their scales amplify heat, especially light from fire and the sun, making any clothing item which uses them ideal for colder areas. Who needs artifacts when you can make your own?"*

The Mossback and Stonescale are my favorites because they seem incredibly adapted to the specific world created by the ruins. I also wonder if the Stonescale's venom has caused wanderers to sleep and fall prey to demons. I can also imagine a wanderer "taming" one to scale the ruins or ascend to the top.

I wonder how the Wanderers figure out socially constructed things about themselves, if they do at all. Do they keep track of their age? How do they learn language? Do they speak different languages or just one? Do they have different cultures or groups? Do they have genders or any concept of masculinity and femininity? Do they fall in love? How do they learn to read and write? A lore video just about how Wanderers simply work or exist would be something I would be more than happy to see.

i can't stay away. I always cannot wait to be done with life stuff so I can settle and get cozy with one of your new videos. Though we had a thought. This is by no means a request or demand. More of curiosity about your ideas when it comes to this and where you wish to go with it all. We (me myself and I) know you were trying to do plushie of spirit (if you figure it out that little burrow one must be added) However, being one who loves a well designed art book or a book exploring the process of things via text and pictures or hell even a visual novel/comic mostly of pictures... I wonder have you considered collecting it all into one big book to sell? Cards? Or perhaps a solo tabletop rpg or game? In any case, thank you always for these videos. Nothing brings my heart joy than finding a new upload from your channel to just sink and be cozy in. Relax and wander for a while. It recenters us and reminds us why it is so good that things like this and the quiet exists. Will keep watching to see where you go my friend. =)

Thoughts and questions about the critters: ------------------------------------------------------------- I don't really see how a single glowgrub can be too weak to break the stone, but many are able to do so. Either way, a bug needs to squeeze the stone with it's mandibles, and I don't see how they could cooperate to use more force. Like, what are the glowgrubs physically doing when they work together to break stone? How do they position themselves to exert twice as much force on the same little bit of stone? Maybe they could do it if they were to "kiss", with mandibles touching as they both try to grab the exact same spot? Also, what kind of stone is this, because some kinds of stone are harder and stronger than others. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The mossbacks appear to be hermit crabs. In real life, large hermit crabs (coconut crabs) stop using shells when they get big enough, and just go naked. I have to wonder why the mossbacks continue putting moss on their backs their whole lives- do they have large predators even as adults? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The spearcrests are interesting- they appear to be based on swallows. The sharp feathers are clearly an impossible fantasy element, so I won't ask questions about them and I will just say that these birds are magic. I have to wonder why these birds need sharp feathers- most small birds just fly away from predators, and that has served them well since the Jurassic. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The burrowball is cute. Initially, I thought that it did not look like a long animal curled up, and I wondered if it perhaps had a collapsible spine. I was thinking cup-shaped vertibrae that fill with fluid to extend the animal and empty to contract it. Thinking further, however, I suppose it's possible that the animal just as a lot of fat that disguises it's bendy spine. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The stonescale, from it's description, doesn't sound like it is big enough to eat wanderers. The venom is interesting, though. I presume that while small doses will put wanderers to sleep, large doses will kill them, as venom tends to do. I would also assume that larger wanderers take more venom to subdue, as also tends to be the case with venom- meaning the amount of venom needed to put a large wanderer to sleep would kill a small one. That a camoflauged animal would have such potent venom is actually not that implausible- not all venomous animals brightly show their colors. Still, if a stonecale is spotted by a predator, I have to wonder- does it have the ability to change colors and display a warning signal? It could have bioluminescent markings on it's body that are invsible most of the time, but glow when the animal feels threatened. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ...I don't think it is obvious how terrifying the palewing is. Swans are strong enough to break bones in adult men, and realtive to the wanderers, this thing is much bigger than a swan. This thing is bigger than a cassowary- one kick would kill even the sturdiest, most heavily armored wanderer, and I bet that beak could pierce through all but the sturdiest armor. In fact, if it were only a little bit bigger, it would be able to eat a wanderer by swallowing them whole. It might even be able to do this at the size depicted: Birds, especially heron-like birds, have very stretchy throats. The good news is that if this bird cannot swallow a wanderer whole, it probably won't eat them, because it's beak lacks a hook that would allow it to easily tear flesh. Thus, this bird will not normally hunt anything it cannot swallow whole.
