Stringing can be dialed in in the slicer software. Retraction distance and speed need to be tweaked. As for the bed adhesion. Raise your z offset a little bit. It will print the 1st layer just a little farther away from the bed and won't "push" the molten filament as much into the build surface. Mess around with it a little bit and i'm sure you'll have it dialed in the way you like it.
@shivam_in Жыл бұрын
Won't it affect other layers as well, offset will be used in all layers?
@802Garage Жыл бұрын
Very interesting to hear your perspective since some others with far more FDM experience have had issues. This is why reviews from multiple angles are important. That spider man print is particularly impressive. The stringing can likely be fixed with either a minor retraction change or combing setting. Good stuff!

Stringing is not always a retraction settings as per other comments. New fast printer profiles in slicers tend to keep the nozzle way too close to the print while travelling. Most likely, it will drag on the infill. In my case, the nozzle was not 0.4mm anymore because of the dragging. It was a tiny bit more and for this reason, it was extruding a tiny bit more filament. Said filament was the cause of the stringing. As soon as I've replaced the nozzle, no more stringing. Obviously, to increase the nozzle lifespan, I've increased the Z hop from 0.1mm to 0.2mm as well as disabled Reduce infill retraction. Last thing to change in the slicer was to comment out, in the start gcode, the retraction happening between the purge lines and the beginning of the print as it would not extrude for the first few millimetres of the print. Takes 2 minutes to swap a nozzle as opposed to troubleshoot for hours. At least, you are getting this out of the way. Keep in mind that it does not take much dragging for the nozzle to behave as such. Only a 1/4 spool is enough.

I'm so tempted to pull the trigger on one of these right now, currently owning two Sovol SV06 Plus machines.. After having moved onto Klipper firmware, I am BADLY wanting a CoreXY printer and to move away from bed-slingers entirely. If this machine had a 300X300 buildplate, I would already have one in the mail.. I will sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow. What he said bout tall models at higher speeds with bed slingers is very true.

I absolutely love your reviews. I will probably but a resin printer one day, and your reviews are extremely helpful in knowing what I'd be getting myself into. I'm sure you heard this a million times, but if you like the idea of "plug and play" FDM printers, you might like the Bambulab printers. They're kind of expensive and the build area is not significantly bigger, but these also produce very good quality prints quickly without any significant assembly required.

Great review, I have had this printer for a couple of months and had no problems. This is my second printer the fist was a Elegoo Neptune 2 s. That took me longer to put together then the Ender 5 S1 I also bought the Sonic Pad which is excellent and works well with the printer. Just now waiting for the enclosure.

Great video btw! I was also considering the Ender 5 Plus but with the sale it was still 100$ more than this and i got this one for $300 new from microcenter on a sale they were running.. @FauxHammer Жыл бұрын
@@rahyan. how so? What am I missing?
@rahyan. Жыл бұрын
@@FauxHammer It's a Cartesian printer as you have a dedicated motor for each axis. It does look (a little bit) like a Core XY though. The misses are only some speed and way more durability. With a Core XY you could've reached better speeds, but it's kinda useless as the 250mm/s are already impressive. As for durability, you'll only have to check if the wheels aren't getting wear, if they are (it generally happens after 2-3 years of ownership and lots of prints), you can replace them. You can also check if the belt is properly tightened only if you have some printing issues, if they're not, you can screw it back. You somehow confused it with a Core XY printer due to the fact that you're new to FDM printers (as I am too. But I'm always seeing Core XY machines and Cartesians ones as well as different types). The wheels directing the y axis (and the movement of the x axis) are a giveaway that it's not a Core XY. I hope this helps. By the way if you see this comment (or if you read till here), I'd like to know how your printer holds up after >1 month of use.

Sorry, but you don’t criticize it without stating at least a reason why and preferably a verbose explanation if you want people to take your comments seriously. While stating that you don’t like it, you have given nobody else reason to avoid it. That leaves the impression of the original video and therefore makes your comment redundant. Maybe edit your comment so you sound more informed and experienced.
