If you look at the number of posts or holes it might seem like "4k quality" but the prints of high res printers are smoother, you can get them print with no visible lines or voxels even when looking up really close, great for miniatures.
@FauxHammer2 ай бұрын
Not noticeably smoother. To get visibly smoother at 2x magnification you would need sub 10 micron pixels. And without a lightsource sharp enough, which this does not have. There is no difference because edges are soft. It’s fine. But watch the video you’ll see what I mean at the end

I dont have a space to put a resin , but i find them interesting. From the outside it looks as if a lot of the companies have what i like to call "enter-itis" release 50 versions of the same machine with minor upgrades. It must be a bloody nightmare for support from the company themselves. Would it not be better for them to focus on a small number of machines and work on improving software and UX? I know more about FDM so as an example. Bambu have shown us that the most important thing is the software and the user experience, nice hardware is good but how you use the tool is way more important, something that other FDM vendors just dont get. They think if they make a machine that looks like a bambu with a few more numbers on the stats it will out bambu bambu, they have learned nothing.

Just checked the elegoo mars4 ultra is price the same as this printer the mars 4 $20 less. For $50 you can get a Saturn 3 or the Anycubic mono 4 ultra for $70 more. So it’s AA vs RERF. If they sold it for $159 or less it would be a ok beginning printer.

A point on 'not being a 10K', with that resolution it definitely falls within the range of what a '10K' standard would be. 4K, 5K, 8K etc... don't define a single resolution of pixels as every screen is not the same aspect ratio; they're usually grouped within a range. This printer has more pixels then 10K ultrawide monitors (10240x4320) or that defined in the HDMI 2.1 standard. It's 10K in the same way 4800 × 2700 is 5K. Aspect ratio, within a range and number of pixels help define it just as much as horizontal or vertical pixel count :)

I bought this about 2 weeks ago. Can't compare to anything as it's my first resin printer. What I printed so far has incredible detail. Having said that, I agree that probably 4k resolution on 7" screen should be more than enough, as you can't see the pixels on 7" 4k, so I don't see why we need higher resolution. I don't see the logic however how a single COB LED could give better/straighter UV beam compared to multiple LED's

Honetly, it depends how much you wnat to piss around. I think the Mono 4 Ultra has a minimal edge on Quality, and if it matters to you, swap the ACF for PFA. but if you don;t wnat to do that. Then the Mars 4 is the easier to use out of the box. The Mars 5 Ultra however, is the same as the Mars 4 Ultra. But prints faster, yet has a stupid build plate.

So I used to do that, but then I had comments the other way that they cannot be judged due to the primer on them. Which I kind of agree with because my priming skills may be better or worse than the next person. So things what the prints look like raw with no external interaction. Please don't tell us that this printer isn't needed because of the Mono 2. I owned a Mono 2 printer. Great prints but the device is complete garbage. It died and started skipping gears after a mere 25 prints or so. The thing was practically all plastic except for the most minimal gears and rails. Yes, the build plate is metal but that wasn't the problem. I'm sick and tired of vendors going to cheaper build, construction, and design. Where are the new solid built printers that are sub $500?

But why not? This is pretty much the same printer again, probably in terms of build quality too (if they cut corners of rubber feet on the outside, what corners are cut inside) and considering there's no visible quality Improvident on your prints but this costs more. Why should anyone buy this over a cheaper mono 2? But yes, good question. " Where are the new solid built printers that are sub $500?" I have no idea!
