I'm a relatively new spinner - bought my first wheel in November. And the next natural step was to pick up my knitting needles again! My mother taught me the very basics years ago, and I never really "clicked" with it. But with all the amazing tutorials on KZbin, it was a whole new ball game! Your videos are so approachable, so friendly, so encouraging. I find myself not just willing to try new stitches and construction techniques but really happy and excited about it! Can't wait to see what you do in 2023!

Hmmm gotta check out that “bent” one… and also your contraction cowl. I like that it’s not a teeny cowl but a longer one that hangs down. Here’s my suggestion for another video, for like January or February : Fave 5 things to do with those Mini Skein Sets you got during the holiday season but didn’t knit with them. (I might actually need a dozen or so ideas for this… just sayin’.)

So say I do see a gorgeous fingering weight skein I fall in love with but don’t have a plan for. How should I buy it for best use? Buy two? A sweater quantity? Buy it with another coordinating solid skein? What would you recommend?

I am afraid that I have the same problem. As far as sweater quantity goes ... ask yourself if you're going to knit a fingering weight sweater? My answer to that is probably not. If you buy one you can always buy a coordinating skein later if you need it. If it's in your budget buying two will open up the door to more options.

The Midas Hat by Laura Reinbach (I found it on Ravelry) is a great hat for those single skeins of souvenir yarn. Pattern says light fingering 300-400 yds, one size. I have made several with a variety of fingering yarn brands for men and women; I think I made one for a kid too. It's super easy therefore easy to adjust sizes.

Great ideas. I used to have this problem but now i am ok with just collecting single skeins . Life is too short notnto buy the yarn and its also too short to feel ashamed for not using it right away. and also i am learning sock techniques. Soon i might have something i can actually wear haha. Keep the favs coming though!

@@WatchBarbaraKnit I'm just taling about using 2 different colors and your using them as one. I seen some people make a blanket where the main color is black and they use whatever color available in their stash to make a blanket. They use those 2 colors as one. I hope that makes sense. 😂

Do you mean that you are striping or that you have two yarns and you are holding both at the same time and knitting with them at the same time. This is sometimes called knitting with the yarn held double (or triple or so forth).

I honestly do not do anything to the audio except to make sure it's loud enough. I would have no idea how to adjust right vs left earbud. I'm pretty solid at my knitting skills but I am definitely not a videographer or editor LOL.
