I just started using Bare Minerals Mineral Veil as a touch up powder and I LOVE it. Also, to those peeps complaining she doesn't do enough tutorials and too much of product reviews, you shouldn't be complaining. She did a tutorial not too long ago and this is HER channel. If you don't like her type of videos, just unsubscribe. Because in my opinion, I love all the vids that she makes and you're obviously not a true fan to be complaining. Just saying.
@clqian2110 жыл бұрын
Well, I think as a fan it's perfectly acceptable to want her to do more tutorials. I do like product reviews/hauls but if you look at her channel she usually does around four videos before doing a makeup tutorial... And for some of us, that seems like a pretty big gap. We're not hating on Jen. We like her tutorials and we simply want her to do more. And yes, this may be HER channel, but what kind of KZbinr should ignore her fans requests despite the fact that her success is built on fans like us?
@stephh122810 жыл бұрын
clqian21 I don't think it's necessary to use the word "ignore". She does have a life too and again it's her channel, so she can upload whatever she wants. I'm sure she takes her fans requests in consideration, but maybe she's just in the mood to do product reviews.

I second your Urban Decay recommendations. I just got the Naked 3 palette and I'm in looooove with it. It's also a great way to sample a lot of colors at once if you're interested in Urban Decay's build-your-own palette and can't decide which pots to buy for it. I will add that if you're on a budget and can at least get a shadow primer, Physician's Formula has some great little neutral palettes. I still keep the Hazel Eyes Shimmer Strips palette around to toss in my purse.

My favourite basics are the Wet n Wild eyeshadows in any shade, they are just so pigmented and easy to use. Their blush in 'Pearlescent Pink' is kinda like a dupe for Nars' 'Orgasm' too. A thing my friends don't own or use primarly because they are scared of it is an eyelash curler. If you are a beginer or afraid to use one, I highly recommand the NYC eyelash curler. It's shaped differently, made of plasitc instead of metal and is just so much easier to use!
@mmelissahoward10 жыл бұрын
I think that the Naked Basics is the ideal palette for any beginner. It's half the price, and has the perfect every day shades that are so easy to work with. I have the Naked 2 as well and hardly use some colours.

Totally adore you Jen! I love how you stick to your preferences ESPECIALLY the urban decay eyeshadow pallete. You use it in so many of your videos and I LOVE that you do because it gives me a ton of ideas for looks I can do (and I know that you aren't just marketing things to us for a company)!

I LOVE using BB cream for the base of my daily make up, having been using it from the first time I tried make up on. I really recommend Skin Food's Agave BB Cream. It covers the blemishes, and in my case also corrects the red blemishes I have on my cheeks overtime. You can cover it with loose powder afterwards or move on to the next part. In Indonesia, the price is more expensive than Etude, but similar to Tony Moly. But the result is so much better than Etude (this one made my skin dry). Never tried Tony Moly tho, cos they have less in the bottle :p

Two of my favorite products since in was new to makeup is maybelline great lash and covergirls aquasmooth foundation. Great lash has a light formula, NEVER clumpy smudgy or flaky, and easy to get off but stays on great. You can build it too. One coat looks very natural but makes your lashes pop. And the aquasmooth foundation can be used as a coveeup too. It gives a smooth matte but not cakey finish. Cover girls queen line has a version for darker skin tones. It also works AMAZING as a primer. For a few bucks neither is flawless but definitely worth trying to see if they work for you. To be honest I use both almost everyday and sometimes just by themselves. Theyre definitely my favorite products.

When I first started doing makeup, I had a cream eyeshadow that I could just pat on my eyelids when I was running late for class, being a lazy 16 year old, etc. My mom splurged and bought me a Laura Mercier one, I think they are now her Caviar Eyeshadow Sticks. A good drugstore one would be the Maybelline Color Tattos in Bad to the Bronze, Inked Pink, etc. You can put them on your lids as is, or use them as a base!

One of my favs would be the Dior lip glow, it's very moisturizing and easy to use, plus it has this ability to kind of like adapt to your lip temperature and changes to a flattering color? on me, it tends to be a bright pink shade but it is super moisturizing like a lip balm!

I'm a beginner beginner like I don't know what I'm doing, but I really, really like the Covergirl lashblast mascara too! I've have one from a bareMinerals kit and some free birthday one from Sephora, but I keep coming back to Covergirl! I thought I was crazy that the drugstore one is actually the better one!

I love your necklace!! Also, for mascara: my situation is very similar to yours in that my lashes are straight and short, and I also have monolids. I've tried the CG volumeblast waterproof and liked it okay, but I've found the Revlon Lash Potion to be my HG. It's super waterproof (I've accidentally showered with it on and it stayed!), holds the curl until you remove it, plus it does not smudge at all (the CG smudges by lunchtime).

Something I recommend is the Claire's extreme volume mascara it's really cheap and lasts so along and comes off in prices and doesn't leave black smudges all over my face. Another one I recommend is the maybelline the rocket mascara which doesn't clip and is great on volume!

I've never been a big make-up person outside special occasions but I really want to get into it more because I like the way my skin looks when it's done up a bit. For foundation, I use a Garnier BB cream. It's easy to put on, doesn't feel cakey and it evens my complexion nicely. I have really oily skin so this doesn't cause my face to break out, as long as I take it off every night. I have a lot of E.L.F. eye shadow. Their pallets are really nice and a good price. Eye liner I still have to master.

Loving these basic how to videos. I'm a noob to make up too and so far only do my eyebrows because I have larger eyes I look fine with or without eye shadow and stuff but I do want to get into that sort of stuff. Most of my first makeup are Korean brands since Sephora brands are super expensive in Singapore. I love Innisfree's No Sebum powder, lip products, eyeliners and eyebrow pencil. Their eye primer is basic but I found it works well for the price. For eyeshadow palette though, it's Urban Decay basic since I have many other single eyeshadows if I want non-basic eyeshadow colors

I'm a firm believer in ELF brushes! Especially when you're just starting out and don't have much money to spend they range from $1-$3 in your local Target :) But, if you want something a little better, EcoTools or Real Techniques are great, a little more pricer though.

I liked how you commented on the eyelash curlers. I've been wanting to try the Shiseido one because my makeup artist friend always talks about it being a really good one, but I've been using The Faceshop's eyelash curler for YEARS and I think it's really good for its price. I also recently got the Naked 3 Palette and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It's like a pinkish tone so apparently it looks best on white people, but it pretty much works for anyone with a light skin tone and I definitely ended up kind of abandoning my Mac eyeshadow palette after getting the Naked palette. I kind of have a question though, do you not wear/own/use lip tints? It would be nice to see like a tutorial video of how to use lip tints and how you can mix it with other lip products to create a slight ombre kind of lip color(s).
