I’m so glad to see someone showing this wonderful curriculum! We have used CLE Math for our oldest daughter since 1st grade and she is now a junior in high school! She is very solid in her math knowledge and the curriculum is very well done over the years! It’s very affordable and has Biblical values woven throughout the light units. I pray this math curriculum is a blessing to you and your family and many more families seeing your video! God bless! Jennifer from Ohio.

Hi there! I have a 6 year old daughter who's in the first grade this year and math does not come easy to her. We started the first half of the school year using Math Lessons for a Living Education. She did ok with it but was also pretty bored after while. How does this compare to MLFLE? Is there a scope and sequence at the front of the teacher guide that lays out everything that will be taught for the year?
@brittanym583 жыл бұрын
@@kayking3313 Hi Kay. We actually switched from MLFLE to CLE. MLFLE was a bit slow going for my son and we wanted more. CLE is more intense in scope and sequence and lessons are significantly longer but that doesn't necessarily mean she'll struggle. It builds slowly and is incredibly thorough and repetitive. You can view many sample pages on their website, or buy just one booklet for under $4.

Good info. When I was researching curriculum to start homeschooling 2 years ago, this was never one that I even saw videos of. And of course I didn’t go to a convention so I couldn’t just visit all the booths. Anyway, if I wasn’t already doing Math-U-See with my daughter, I’d probably get this. I like how it incorporates money. MUS doesn’t in K/1 at least so I’ve had to try to find resources for that. If you have any recommendations for that...I’m all ears! ♥️

We have been a CLE family from K-grade 4. We just switched our kiddos mid year to ACE (1st/4th) I have a love/hate relationship with CLE. The Math is solid but moves fast, especially as the grades progress. I found for my fourth grader she was not remembering some of her Math concepts despite the constant review. She has come to the point where she is just completely over CLE. I am not one to jump around because I don't want learning gaps, so I really prayed about the switch. She did test into 5th grade for ACE (with a couple gap paces in English) after using CLE thus far. I still went ahead and put her mod-year through ACE and I'm finding this review is building her confidence and she has been excited to do school everyday. For Language Arts I feel like she just went through the motions of the constant review and didn't actually think through the lessons. She is actually getting a better grasp on L.A. with ACE. I love that CLE is wholesome, and I love the ease of the teacher guides they are very easy to follow. For our family CLE just became too overwhelming. Tfs

The ten year old is doing k/1st and the 12 year old is doing 6th grade but is not on a 6th grade math level, he is doing 3rd grade rod and staff. But with rod and staff it is all mastery and I would kind of like both also. With his special abilities, add, sensory I was wondering if it would be a good fit. Help please. And when you stop cle what do you switch to? Momma struggling with special needs boys.

Saxon is an excellent math program. As we transition into middle and high school years math of course becomes more complex. We use the DIVE video lessons put out by Saxon. Basically it helps me to teach upper level math and I like starting the transition into middle school that way. My oldest is in 5th so it has been a very smooth transition from Christian light to doing Saxon independently.

When you teach these math lessons, do you find that you need to sit with your child until he or she is finished? I am a homeschool mom of 8... teaching 5 kids K-6... I am trying to find a good curriculum that they can do as independently as possible. I have always done rightstart math and loved it... but it was taking too much time. It requires constant one-on-one time... and each lesson about 45 minutes... I switched to math-u-see this year... I am loving the independence the kids have... but I'm not loving the curriculum itself. I need a thorough curriculum that is not too time consuming.
