Long time listener, first time writing ... I love the sour pop. I had a problem with a salivary gland, and my doctor told me to eat or drink something sour, so I started drinking their lemonade. Good stuff IMHO :)

I got into The Bond movies cause of Golden Eye on The Nintendo 64. I watched the movies when they would show them on TBS. I rented the crap out of Tomorrow Never Dies. To the point that I got it for Christmas of 1998. It came with an extra VHS with a making of. Still have the tapes. Pierce Brosnan would be my favorite I guess. Favorite villain Alec Trevelyan. Bond girl Michelle Yeow.

I grew up watching Casino Royale on late night television in the early summer on the CBS Late Movie. It was my first introduction to James Bond. At the time, I had no idea that the movie was had three directors ( Val Guest, Ken Hughes, John Huston). But what I remember most of all about the movie was Burt Bacharach’s score. It was so bright and pleasant to the ears despite the mayhem on the screen. I couldn’t get enough of Sean Connery as Bond in Goldfinger and Thunderball. He had my attention with his commanding voice. Roger Moore. I remember him as Simon Templar in The Saint series(coincidentally, actor George Sanders played The Saint in the late 30’s or early 40’s movie series. Roger Moore looked like George Sanders when he was younger). Baron Samedi was portrayed by Geoffrey Holder. A world renowned dancer and choreographer who would be the pitchman for 7-Up. He was famous for calling 7-Up “The Un-cola.” And he was in the movie adaptation of Annie. Bond villains are of two categories. S.P.E.C.T.R.E. or independents. Films with S.P.E.C.T.R.E. villains. Dr. No From Russia With Love Thunderball You Only Live Twice On Her Majesty’s Secret Service Diamonds Are Forever Casino Royale Quantum Of Solace SPECTRE Independents Live And Let Die The Man With The Golden Gun The Spy Who Loved Me Moonraker For Your Eyes Only Octopussy A View To A Kill The Living Daylights License To Kill Goldeneye Tomorrow Never Dies The World Is Not Enough Die Another Day Skyfall Favorite Bond girl. Claudine Auger. Favorite henchman. Odd Job Jaws Nik Nak Stamper(Tomorrow Never Dies) Favorite Blofeld portrayal Charles Gray Donald Pleasance Telly Savalas Chistoph Waltz Favorite independent Bond villain. Karl Stromberg(The Spy Who Loved Me Max Zorin(A View To A Kill) Emilio Largo(Thunderball and Never Say Never Again) Elliott Carver(Tomorrow Never Dies) Raoul Silva(Skyfall) Francisco Scaramanga(The Man With The Golden Gun) Favorite Bond. Tough one. Each actor brought something different and unique to the character of James Bond. For the honor of establishment, it goes to Sean Connery. For the humor and camp, Roger Moore. For the attempt at making Bond more serious and realistic, that honor goes to Timothy Dalton. For the upgrade of James Bond, Pierce Brosnan. For tragedy George Lazenby (the only James Bond who is emotionally and legally married). For the exploration of the Bond, Daniel Craig. I haven’t seen No Time To Die yet. But I will check it out. My go to soda. Root Beer My favorite citrus soda. Mello Yello I remember dinking one soda that I only drank once. Jolt Cola(the most heavily caffeinated soda in existence). Have a great one, Dave😎✌️👍

Perhaps Mr. Barnes would like to know just why George Lazenby turned down more James Bond roles. At the time Lazenby’s manager was an Irishman named Ronan O’Rahilly who also happened to be the man who started Britain’s first pirate radio station. O’Rahilly was convinced, given the success of underground radio as an alternative to the sclerotic, anodyne programming of the BBC, that he was tuned into what the young generation really craved in terms of popular entertainment. Accordingly, O’Rahilly advised Lazenby that James Bond was on the verge of becoming passé very quickly.

They were always popular. I think the first one I saw in he theater was Diamonds are Forever. Favorite Bond Actor: Sean Connery. Favorite Bond Movie: Thunderball? Favorite Bond Villian: Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, I guess. They had some great lines. Favorite Bond Girl: Yeah, Jane Seymour amongst so many great ones. BTW, it looks like Moore did 7 movies. The next Bond actor: That's a tough one: Really tough to say. I like all the actors you mention, Cavill, Elba, Robbie but can't really see any of them doing Bond. Nicholas Hoult?

Moore did 7? Not sure why I thought it was 5. Nicholas Hoult would be good. I’m interested in seeing how he does as Lex Luthor in the new Superman movie.

For me, it comes down to what you want to do with Bond. If I was M, I would hire Dalton. Yes, Bond went rogue -- but that was M's fault, M was wrong. Dalton proved himself by not being some tin soldier, by not simply shooting Kara Milovy, while in every other way he was a solid agent, a fascinating balance of being brutal and yet gentlemanly. Brosnan was the Bond I wanted to BE. I wanted to wake up one day and simply BE Brosnan as Bond. Lazenby will always be special to me because he married and then had his heart broken by Diana Rigg, who will always be for me Emma Peel of The Avengers. Now that is an epic love story right there. Finally, I loved Moore as a kind of ultimate tourist. The Caribbean (beloved by Fleming)! Bangkok! A stunning parachute drop in the Austrian Alps! The pyramids of Egypt! An ocean lair! Barbara Bach (in a manner of speaking)! The Eiffel Tower! India! Venice (despite the double-taking pigeon)! Rio! The Amazon! And most of all -- OUTER SPACE! Weirdly, this leaves Connery and Craig out a bit cold. I think of them less as agents and more as guys having personally tailored adventures at MI6's expense, that whole weird "Our whole world is nothing but SPECTRE needling Bond" dynamic. (Goldfinger is a refreshing outlier because he's in cahoots with the Red Chinese and out to boost the value of his own gold.) So, I guess I really appreciate agents with a sense of mission -- hence the popularity of the Mission: Impossible movies. That said, Connery and Craig of course also did great with what they were given This is of course far more information than you need, Dave, but I thank you and Scott for giving me the excuse.

For me, Connery IS Bond, then second is Pierce Brosnan, all that suave Bond along with eye candy, the whole package ❣️ yet my favorite Bond movie and storyline is For your eyes only, so action packed but when I see Pierce driving that tank or driving his car from the back seat, it’s a tough one to choose ❣️. I wouldn’t want Elba because I can’t understand his voice, too garbled for me. Bond should always sound like HE has the best British accent.

Roger was my favorite. I'lll always wonder what a great Bond Sam Neill would've made in the 80's, right after Moore's stint ended (which probably SHOULD'VE been For Your Eyes Only as his last...Roger looked too old in his last 2...but he was still great though)
