Forgive me, I literally came here because I remembered Leela the character but one of my favorite gurus, Sadhguru, mentioned "Leela" and he defined it as "the Path of the Playful" Some food for the thought, when I was a kid, folks would tell me not to watch adult cartoons like this. But the entire time, I was just wishing for Fry and Leela to get together and when they did, I was filled with joy. So coming back to see Leela reminds me why I smile whenever I see her.

I thing Turanga is Leela's last name (the mailbox outside her parents' house says Turanga and she was adresses as Ms. Turanga once), but for Fry and Zoidberg yeah, it's true

It's pretty normal where I live to call each other by last names.. It's a small village and a lot of names goes again.. (I think we had four Alexander at my school at one point, so they all still go by last name) It's also normal for friends, especially guys, to call each other's lastnames, instead of nicknames.. At my work, we even make nicknames for the kids using their first names, but making them into last names.. (If a kid was called Jack, we'd call him Jackson) And sometimes we just straight up use last names.. So it's never even crossed my mind to think it was anything odd..

That scene was clearly a reference to 1960s Batman, with both Batman and Robin's actors, the mention of "dynamic duos", the fact Adam's head is on a bat, and in the show, Batman and Robin would often climb up buildings with ropes and random celebrities would peep out through the windows as they were going up. I felt the need to explain this all because you deserve the award for stupidest comment I have ever seen.
