Of course Larry seeing the Beatles on Ed Sullivan is a great memory and I remember walking down the midway at the Ex and hearing From Me To You in the distance and just feeling pure joy, what a fantastic sound and another memory I have is hearing Turn,Turn,Turn at my friend's birthday party and sitting by the radio and hearing this great sound coming from it,their Rickenbacher twelve strings sounded like bells ringing to me,fantastic and a kind of supernatural musical memory for me after my mother passed away, the day after she died I awoke with a song in my head that I hadn't thought of or heard since I was very little He's Got The Whole World In His Hands and a memory of me as a child being scared, hearing that song and asking my mother is that true mommy and her saying yes it is and me saying I don't have to be afraid anymore,Larry I feel my mother sent me that song to tell me not to be afraid and everything was going to be alright,a true story. Bob

Very nice Larry, thank you for sharing 🙂. My favourite music memory is my first ever concert. I saw Green Day live at the Manchester Arena on the 30th October 2009. It was a fantastic night and a dream come true for me to see them live 👍xxx.

We used to call those turntable/radio cabinets radiograms. I have a strong memory of playing Bowie's Hunky Dory on my grandfather's radiogram when I was a youngster. My grandparents quite liked it, especially "Kooks". Cheers.

Hi Larry. One of my greatest memories was seeing Queen twice in the 70s. It was amazing to see Freddie and the boys and I would have been 16 or 17 and it had a lasting effect on me. Great video. Thank you. Dave

Queen were such a great live band. That is an awesome memory, Dave!

This channel (and the Patreon) have been a big part of my music journey. My all-time favorite musical memory will be seeing Brian Wilson live in 2021. His later performances were generally somewhat frail and subdued, but he was on fire that night. With Al and Blondie there, it's the closest I'll get to hearing the REAL Beach Boys live.

Thank you and that is so awesome you got to see Brian on a good night!

Going to hear the Buffalo Philharmonic ever Tuesday with my mother who loved culture. Those were practice sessions and 'free,' I especially remember her putting the gas pedal heavy to rush me to kindergarten which began @ noon!

Good memories and a good video idea. Watching Oasis and Kasabian at London's Wembley stadium in 2008 with my parents was a good early memory for me. And making my own music is high on the list too - creating music makes you realise how powerful and impressive the best artists are.

If you haven't got into them at any point (or heard of them) check out Magazine's 1978 LP "Real Life" or simply play "The Thin Air" from their "Second Hand Daylight" LP. I've been converting people to Magazine since 1978.

Fun journey through your music memories. These are all very important to hold onto, it's scientifically proven that good music you like is good for you and can even relieve pain. (I just watch a great video on that subject on StarTalk with Neil Degrasse Tyson.) I've talked about my favorite music moments on my channel, like the first time I heard KISS, Metallica and TOOL, but my favorite was when I first learned about Lateralus and then hearing it for the first time, then getting to see them live, twice! I would have to say everything with TOOL is my all time favorites!

My greatest memory was seeing Oasis at Maine Road 1996. My next great memory hasn't even happened yet, I'm seeing Oasis next year at Heaton Park . By biggest regret is never seeing Paul McCartney live

I think Jimi Hendrix was my first ‘wow, who’s this?’ in music, although Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Bill Haley had already come to my attention. The Beatles had to go on the back burner because of Hendrix. They returned centre stage with ‘Revolver’. ‘Deep Purple in Rock’ was another special one for me, not forgetting Black Sabbath’s ‘Paranoid’ and the Deep Purple single ‘Black Night’. The Rolling Stones’ first album is still my favourite. Gradually Mick Jagger just didn’t do it for me. Other musical loves are too numerous to mention, many of them being Jazz and Fusion oriented. Didn’t get into Zappa until the 80’s.

So... you wanted to be a deejay on the radio? In my humble opinion, and for what it's worth, you did yourself better than being a DJ, you bypassed the radio format and became a KZbin sensation. Remember when MTV first began, or at least in its early days, you're a "VeeJay" sorta speaking, actually better than any and all of the "veejays" they had. You present and speak from the heart, which is better than somebody else's written script. One of my favorite bands is the Grateful Dead, but before hearing them on the FM radio, I liked Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild and I thought Truckin' was a Steppenwolf song on first listen on the radio in 1971.

Cannabis is not like drugs although people call it that, that is why there is still a lot of stigma attached to it. I prefer calling it herbs which is what cannabis is and herbs are medicinal. Just my opinion of course, no offense intended. 😎👍
