Gotta add about Ted and Charlotte- I didn't ship them, till I read the script. Originally, Ted was in the scene after Not Your Seed with Emma and Prof. Hidgens... And some of the emotion in that, the pain, seeing his real reaction to Charlotte's death... That hurt man. And it makes you see that they actually cared about one another- they were both just terrible at expressing it.

I think both of them need heavy therapy, Ted to unlearn all the demeaning and dismissive reactions that seem to come naturally, Charlotte to grow more confident and to learn to love herself, and then they could have thrived.

This is an old comment, but if you haven't I recommend watching the vod of Jon's watch party of TGWDLM that he did on Twitch! In it, during the scene where Bill gets the call from Alice and Ted says she's dead, he mentions how a lot of Ted's anger and bitterness in that scene comes from his grief over Charlotte's death (and some other stuff that I can't remember but that's the gist of it)

My personal headcanon is that Ted, Charlotte, and Sam all went to high school together (Ted and Charlotte are both ~34 I believe and Sam's age is unconfirmed but he's likely close to Charlotte's age as well) and Ted had a huge crush on her, but she was dating Sam They lost contact after graduation but then reconnected when they ended up working at the same place and Ted confessed his feelings for her when she confided in him about Sam Granted I haven't watched all of the Hatchetfield stuff so there may be inaccurate details but yeah

Honestly, I do believe Ted did love Charlotte. him being angry towards Bill later on makes perfect sense in context (spoiler if you haven't seen TGWDLM ) he had literally gone through the trauma of witnessing the woman he loved, dead and possessed by the aliens with her guts hanging out, together with her possessed husband and they were beating him up until Professor Hidgens saved them. it makes perfect sense he had a meltdown of anger. it wasn't just him being his usually jerk self.
