Bud, there are some coaches indeed favoritism and always criticize certain good players with no compliments but favor kids they have relationship in the past... it happens a lot dude.

There's been good players over the years in HS even college that been undervalued favoritism is one of the problems

So telling to the truth is the problem, about the coach is playing favorites and your son or daughter is better than the starting player. SURE!!

Yeah right brou.. can you explain to me how you have a good athlete with good skills leave her in JV team just because the principal’s daughter show up with no experience and skills and let this girl goes straight to varsity?? Plus this new coach just hire this season by this principal… and you tell me this is not a favoritism??
@ddthis Жыл бұрын
that is nepo/politics not favoritism. we're not even sure if that one is the principal's favorite kid. lol

My former HS varsity coach is currently in prison for grand larceny and embezzlement of police union retirement funds. He was a spiteful psychopath… unfortunately people that coach at highschools can be extremely flawed and are lacking severely in character. Not all but many.

I agree with most of this BUT there are exceptions: our case A coach at the year before banquet stated about one kid a sophomore " I expect a lot from you next year" ignoring the other JV kids going up and from day 1 that kid has been starting , no competition just given to him over 4 others who had better JV seasons including my son . This is the situation AT NAZARETH AREA HIGH SCHOOL Coach Bryan Wolf....baseball .

yeah no shit. You're in a terrible situation there buddy. I google that school and coach out of curiosity and he graduated from there. Not only are you going to have to deal with favoritism towards faculties kids and booster club buddies but he's going to have favorites from his days back in school there as well.
@charlieserra9468 Жыл бұрын
Oh and all the booster club board members kids are on the team too. Nah it's not favoritism

The real problem is allowing parents to be involved in sports at any level and to impact a coaches decision. My son’s middle school team lost all but one game last season, due to parent involvement. One assistant coach, who was a parent, was involved and pushed for their son and nephew to play. Their son and nephew performed poorly, but played every game. My son played one game for one inning. He fielded the ball successfully from outfield to infield, in a timely manner. His at only at bat as a sixth grader, he hit a solid line drive to first base on his second hit. He never played another game. His team lost all but one game and the same kids continued to play, even after not hitting the ball and having horrible fielding plays. The political atmosphere is ridiculous. When your team is down 10-0 in the 3rd inning, you out your second and third string in to play, it not our coach. He continued to play the same players. This year, my son tried out and didn’t make the team. Politics is the real reason and now I am going to start playing the political game. The kids who couldn’t catch or hit the ball made the team, which is an absolute joke. One of my friends who played in the major leagues for a few years said he should have made the team and that is it ridiculous. He came to games last year and laughed at how the team was coached. Now the fun begins and time to play politics has come!
