I've never read a single one, but after years of reading other people's comments about them, I came to the conclusion that the movies showed no mercy whatsoever in butchering the best aspects of the books.

@@IronMan-tk8uc Eh, I wouldn't really say that. For example, Movie Snape is a lot more likeable than Book Snape, with most of the edges of Book Snape softened. One of the good additions from the movies are the Hogwarts uniforms, which are much better in my opinion than the ones in the books. And I really liked the Voldemort vs Dumbledore fight in Movie 5 compared to how it was in the books. On the other hand, Movie 6 does feel like a neutered adaptation of Book 6 because Snape's reveal of being the Half Blood Prince doesn't have the same impact because the movie didn't spend nearly as much time exploring the mystery of the Half Blood Prince as Book 6 did, so the reveal scene in the movie felt underwhelming. I'll just say that the Books and the Movies have both their positives and negatives. You can always try reading the books if you want. Of course, if you don't have the time to sit down and read, you can always listen to the Audiobook versions of the Harry Potter books, narrated by Stephen Fry.

@@IronMan-tk8uc Goblet of Fire was the worst film for butchering the books. It made a deep and interesting plot that had a lot of twists, into a very simplistic story. And left out epic scenes from the book (Quidditch world cup final, most of the events of the second and third tasks) Order of Phoenix movie is one of the better films for actually doing the book some sort of justice. But all the films miss out good aspects of the books.

The Order of the Phoenix was created to combat Voldemort. It was not involved in Grindelwald. As of the current film Crimes of Grindelwald, there is no formal organization established by Dumbledore to fight Grindelwald.

Lysander T. no he wasn't like Grindlewald. He got ensnared by his ideas because he was in love with Grindlewald but he admitted to Harry in the last book, "Did I in my hearts of heart know what Gellert Grindlewald was? Yes." Dumbledore at the end of the day was a good guy. In his young age he was not the wise guy we know now and he prioritised his love for Gellert over his own family. A decision he later came to regret heavily and as we know from the book in his old age his greatest desire was seeing his family reunited. So, no Dumbledore was nothing like Grindlewald. He was swayed for a while and paid a heavy price for it but he was a good person which Grindlewald never was.

Nope, Dumbledore admit himself that he was, no better, than Voldemort that times. Call it delusion, love struck, or anything else, you know that Dumbledore is a very cunning manipulator coupled with greatest mind, he agreed Grindelward's idea simply because he also seek power too in the shade of "greater good". Only when he realized that he lost his beloved sister did he realized that his power is his greatest weakness. This is why, JK Rowling was a genius mind. She knows that nobody's perfect, not even Dumbledore, not even Snape, not even Harry.

He would have been exceptionally talented in youth youth, yes, just like Grindelwald and Tom Riddle - but with that comes a lot of ambition in will go use that skill, often in naivety. One of the most powerful and skilled wizards the world had ever seen, the man defeated Grindelwald in combat and terrified Voldemort in war. And Fudge thought that he could overpower Dumbledore with just a handful of wizards. The poor sod was never one for brains. Fudge could’ve brought twenty Aurors and Dumbledore would’ve still walked away laughing.

In the books it's even better. When the pull their wands, there was a sudden flash of light and all of them were instantly stunned on the ground, and in that time Dumbledore gave them all instructions and was gone before they woke up.
