I've got a good way to help improve your plays ::: Works on Halo 3 - So basically this is about the campaign, but hear me out. In the campaign you probably already know that by lowering the difficulty to "easy" you can survive pretty much all contact without serious damage. Knowing that, you can set up the enemies into a space (preferably brutes as they act more like the opponents you face online i.e. one shot to the head = instant death and two shots to the body = death) so why not use this to set them up in a space where you can practice shooting them all and if you finish quickly revert back to your last save? So if you wanna improve your sniper use this method and don't kill the last enemy, revert to your last save. This will allow you to improve your sniper skills, br skills, tactical skills etc. You can also practice your montaging I suppose. This set up will include around 10 - 12 brutes + Brute chief (but he will be harmless). No, this isn't a mod, you can do this yourself.If you are interested comment below so that I can give you the best map with the best set up of enemies.
