Kenneth Williams brutally murdered 2 women and got a life sentence. When his sentence was handed down, he turned to the victim’s families and said something to the effect of “y’all thought I would get the death penalty.” While serving life, he escaped from a maximum security prison and killed 3 people while on the run. People like Kenneth Williams are why I will never be against the death penalty. Ever.
@TheWuschelMUC

Perhaps a life sentence and no parole might be even harder. After rotting in prison for years and years the guy might have preferred a quick execution in hindsight. In Austria they had life sentences with special hardships like a hard bunk, a monthly day of fasting and a dark cell on water and bread on the anniversaries of the crimes. A life sentence usually was a life sentence.

The Death Penalty is a very difficult topic to debate. There are arguments on both sides. I used to be against the death penalty. Two wrongs do not make a right. However, I truly believe that if someone deliberately kills another human being, they should be killed also. My position now is that after years of hearing both sides, I think that under certain circumstances such as multiple murders, I am for the Death Penalty.

Interesting. I'm opposite. I used to be pro death penalty then I started watching documentaries on death row inmates. I no longer support it as there have been innocent people released before they could be killed and innocent people killed. Also, some people like Mr. Williams, completely changed.

I agree with death penalty, but only on the grounds of an unambiguous unquestionable evidence (never on the grounds of a mere testimony or circumstantial evidence). On the other hand, death penalty should be applicable for many more crimes than a simple murder.

I believe STRONGLY in the death penalty. I don't care if the execution is "blothed" or not as long as they die. However, I believe keeping these offenders on death row 18, 20 or even 30 years then executing them that many years latter doesn't make sense at all. Not to the victums families and not to the criminal . They are often a differant person by then. Not to say they shouldn't be executed, but I feel they should be executed in a more timely manor. I think to drag it out for all these years is cruel and unusual treatment. Espassaly for victums families.

But as a carryout the judges have jobs but lawyers are making money a death penalty cost one to two million dollars the prisons make money the guards make money the only people that I thought of are the victims and their families I think that is the worst kind of betrayal of our country. If they're guilty just get them off the face of this Earth and let other people breathe good air that they're wasting

It amazes me when these murderous scumbags are protesting against the death penalty. They don't give a flying proverbial about the lives they took, the pain and fear they inflicted on their victims. These scumbags can rot in hell. They get off easy compared to what they did to their innocent victims. I'm talking about those who are proven guilty beyond a doubt.

The Death Penalty Execution by lethal injection is the most humane choice ever. The cost of keeping inmates in prison is very high in any country. The fact that each state has the choice to use the D or not is what differs us from other countries. The DP is only used in the most violent murders, and it is truly believed that they would kill again in the future.

I normally would not comment on a subject like this I would feel biased honestly speaking yet I figure I’ll express my opinion on this matter---here it goes--I’ve been incarcerated quite a few times in which I’ve served a total of 20+years of my life in the correctional system, something I am not proud of’ my reason for bringing this up is to give a understanding of why I may be considered biased upon expressing myself.i feel the DP unfortunately is not wrong I just feel it should be applied to people that commit crimes that we all as a whole would agree are “hayneous”hopefully I spelled that word right”and I believe we all pretty much would agree on what’s considered “hayneous” on a real level!i don’t feel I need to sit here and write down everything that we would consider “hayneous”I believe we as civilized contious people would agree on whats morally right & morally wrong point blank!now with that being said what this dude did was “dead wrong”my opinion!I want to say that a dude like this unfortunately bought this upon hisself!!come on man that dude just took it upon hisself to take other peoples lives for whatever reason he felt the need to’so why is it wrong for his life to be taken?he ain’t kill once’he killed a couple of times’like come on”what’s right is right & what’s wrong is wrong and he wrong!!!!thats what I mean by let’s keep it real!!now are there individuals in death row that don’t deserve to be executed you damn right there are”this is why we need to start keeping it real so that the individuals that don’t deserve to be executed “won’t”& the ones that do “do”!!!

I feel every state should put the worse of the worst in death row to be put to death for they're disgusting and vile crimes. They are talking about the defendant started gasping for breath well what about the victims? Why are we caring if the defendant is suffering when they didn't give they're victims any mercy or grace and no leniency but viciously in cold blood murdered to the victims as they suffer throughout the event. I don't think there should be so much thought we into "oh he is gasping we should give him a little oxygen" Like did you see the pictures in the evidence? Or did you forget so quickly? What they went through.

Furthermore, why is everyone so worried about that man shaking during this administration of the drugs? Obviously this man was not coherent enough to indicate pain or discomfort and besides the fact that prison and government officials present during the execution would not have halted the process even if he would have indicated distress.. All they would have done would have been pump more poison into the man to finish the job. Regardless of the crime this man committed he was still human and his life was taken by the law there is no sense in taking this man's dignity by making his death become a public spectacle.

I think it makes more sence to make them live with the fact that they killed in a small space for the rest of their lives, until they die. A dead man knows no tails. I understand the familys bitterness and pain, but I dont undetstand them wanting death for that person. Yes, I have lost a few family members to murder, but I never wanted them dead. This is why I don't believe in the death penalty, I believe in hope. I believe that some people, if given the chance, can truly be rehabilitated, especially people that are convicted at such a young age. On the other hand, I believe that there are some people that can never be rehabilitated so they should be locked up for good, but not murdered, it's senseless, barbaric and backwards. Killing someone to show that killing is wrong? There has to be a better way. Life in prison seems far worse than death. Expensive yes, but humane. Murder, legal or not, seems so primitive and barbaric.

the death penalty actuallly costs a lot more than the death penalty and is also far more psychologically damaging to the convicted than life in a regular prison

what a big show, the event would have a lot more impact if it were broadcast live directly from the death chamber. why not switch on advertising: this incomparable experience will be presented to you by ... "or you offer viewers the opportunity to bet:" how long will our leading actor last today? "at the same time, with cola and pocorn the progress can be observed on the heart monitor .....

Six syringes and flush with some sailing you have to have enough sailing before they have two syringes of the other drug and then the two other syringes to stop his heart or her heart should take almost 8 minutes sometimes it may not go as planned I've seen Lethal Injections go wrong

never flushed out the drugs all the way through the line and second they should use more saline solution during the procedure but thing it is when you have six syringes those are like horse syringes why wouldn't that have enough drugs to kill a person without any problem if he is obviously well sedated you should not be feeling anything during the final drugs put into him or her but unfortunately that ain't how it goes sometimes?

A convicted prisoner sentenced to death has committed multiple murders with extreme violence. The US abolished hanging, and firing squad, because the political pundits declared it cruel then we stopped in many states using the gas chamber and electric chair for the same reason. So, although hanging or firing squad are far less expensive, we use lethal injection for it’s humanity.

This is a morally sick leadership and unfortunately a lot of sick civilians approving these barberic televised executions. Why do they think that ISIS executions from beheadings are worse. ISIS makes their own laws and the execute people based on their laws. you people allow the bombing of countries who did you no wrong(Irak and Afghanistan, Syria, Lybia)

I agree. I'm fairly conservative politically, but capital punishment is not something I support. I used too, then I started watching programs and documentaries on death row inmates. I think if there is any chance someone is innocent, they should be spared the death penalty.

Just bring back the electric chair or what happened to the breathing treatments they were working on death by Hypoxia witch dosen't need a Gas Chamber and dosen't put anyone else at risk if the gas is going into a mask and being inhaled only by the inmate, but because it gives u a euphoric feeling people thought is was too painless n I guess that they don't deserve a euphoric death because their love ones didn't get one, but at the end of the day do you really wanna be waiting decades and going through this 7 8 9 xs? Everytime they set a day, they get a stay, then they fight over the drugs, Hypoxia is cheap its what their using on animals now instead of cutting there throats by butcher knives.

I find it all very disturbing, just adding more pain and suffering. You expect this kind of punishment from backward cultures like Iran and Saudi Arabia or the cruelty of China and the south east Asian countries executing young foreigners caught with party drugs or some nonsence, but why does America, a country I very much admire, want to align themselves with those countries stuck a few hundred years in the past when it comes to this issue?

The Collateral Damage he did, i.e., his Innocent victims of both his Family and the Family of the victim. The Death Penalty will never be a deterrent to those who commit Homicide. If so, why is this individual being executed. I rest my case!! God Bless You and Yours, Take Care and Stay Safe ya' hear. As Always, I remain, with warmest regards, Most Sincerely, Michael.
